For those not familiar, the "Loudness Wars" is just a term to describe mixes getting louder and louder and killing any dynamics in favor of being louder than the previous track on a playlist. It's important to have enough volume to be sure, and I just found out that there is a tool built in to OZONE 5 advanced called INSIGHT, which helps with this especially for home recording, project studios etc. Higher end facilities will probably trust high end hardware meters, but for the rest of us, for the cost of a plugin we can see visually whats happening in a mix, even if our cheap speakers are lying to us. Here is a video from Namm about it.

That looks like a really cool program. A bit above my current understanding biggrin.gif but sweet looking non the less! What was the legislation he mentions in the beginning? The Com Act was it?

You can download the demo version of OZONE 5 advanced for free and try it out smile.gif It's pretty spiff and I didn't think I was gonna like it at first.

Yeah the com act makes it illegal to program in those HUGE level spikes during commercials!!
