Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Sweep Picking 7th Arpeggios by Alex Feather

Hi guys. I've been practicing Sweeping for a couple of years now. Very hard technique to
learn but sounds great and Arpeggios are very useful in playing in general even if not sweep picked.
Alex main video is faster than this but the backing tracks only go up to 90bpm so I'll just mention that.
Reply:
I think maybe I should speed the backing track up myself maybe. And yeah Ben The first thing I noticed when I watched this back was my right hand motion.

Hi Z-Master.. damn, that's a shame about the backing track !

On to your technique.. I can see that there's still a tendency to separate your picking strokes rather than having a full sweeping motion. However, that could be an illusion that I'm seeing because of the hammer ons acting as moments that stop the picking. SO, forgive me if I'm wrong here !! smile.gif

Timing is good though.. so if I'm wrong about the picking thing then you're doing well ! It might be good to choose another sweeping lesson with full backing tracks available and with less hammer ons and more sweep so we can analyse your technique better. smile.gif

P.S. Not sure if scoring can be valid without full tempo backing tracks so we'll wait to see what Bogdan says

Aloha there smile.gif Hmmmm, as Ben pointed out, sweeping requires a single stroke for all the notes being played and you tend to separate them which will be an obstacle in building good technique, but first of all, let's see what Bogdan's thoughts are on the idea of submitting a slower version smile.gif

Hi Zoom! Ben give you the perfect feedback for this take! You have to try to have a more fluently right hand movement, that's the key of Sweep Picking technique. You will get a more natural sound and timing. Playing tight is not an easy job with this technique and even less at this mid tempos. By the way it's not bad at all! You are very close. Keep on the good job.
