Anytime man! I hope so too, because there's nothing more annoying than being cold during summer ...

http://youtu.be/Qzeavf2MrK0 Here is the video Cosmin, there is a mistake in a couple parts, I played it so many times that I overthought it sad.gif but It really helped with me learning how to bend to pitch.

Hello Tom!

I say, there is a big, big progress happening man! Congrats! You still had a few, just a few which were a bit under the pitch, but generally, my suggestion is to work on making things sound more natural, because, at this point, you are technically correct in 90% of the situations but there is a big lack of flow - so this would be the next step.

Now, I have 2 ideas:

1) You push this one a bit further on its own
2) You push this one and start learning a second one, in order to keep the diversity present.

What'll it be, sir? biggrin.gif

See? It got embedded here wink.gif You solved the problem, so let's continue our journey?

This lesson is basically a very raw bending based one, I want you to focus on the attitude and bends - it will help you build a lot of confidence in your playing, as it is simple and yet it pushes your interpretative skills further!

Hey Cosmin, so here is the video. Had to change up a couple of things and improvise a little bit. The Guitar Pro6 file was different from the actual song there were a couple parts that weren't in the tab. It was a lot of fun and really helped me with the bending and Vibrato it was great smile.gif

Hello Tom!

I can notice great improvements in your playing and I am glad that these lessons are helping out smile.gif

Now, in order to make things even better:

- please focus on bending and vibrating using your wrist - you have some spots where you are still using your fingers, instead of the wrist (ex: 0:54) but there are other spots where I can see the technique looking great!
- with time, you will grow more and more confident with your skills and the recordings will sound better and better. At this point you are a bit shaky smile.gif But that's how it goes with articulation - it took me about 1-2 years to get in shape with it back in 2004-2005 when I understood that I need to work on things in order NOT to sound like a robot biggrin.gif

Now, would you like to add a new one to the collection? tongue.gif

Thanks Cosmin would love a new lesson smile.gif And thank you for the pointers. I notice the same things you pointed out especially when I watch my video playbacks that comes from having a great instructor smile.gif that I can see and hear my mistakes smile.gif Thank you again, I have been putting a minimum of 2 hours a day of practice sometimes up to 4 and I know with good instruction like yours I will get a lot better.

Thanks for your kind thoughts again, Tom! Well, as I said, this is a lengthier process, because it's something that the body learns in time and it takes a bit more time than other techniques, simply because it's not something that's purely mechanical. Be patient and it will be there wink.gif

Now for a new experience, how about this one?

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginner-Summer-Tune/

You need to focus on touch here, more than ever smile.gif It is a fine piece and it will require your attention and finesse!

Awesome Cosmin smile.gif Love this piece, one thing I noticed he really uses the wrist in the vibratos smile.gif Will work really hard on this. I read your thing on the rec take and its funny I actually do play over the song I'm working on and match it note for note I know a part of it is still a bit nervous when being recorded (will get over that soon) and technique needs work. I do plan on doing rec takes as much as I can, love the feedback even if I don't do that well. Thank you for all your help, cant wait to start this lesson, one more question! How much of my time should I devote to a piece, I average about 2 hours a day practice?

Hey also notice he is using a circular motion on the vibrato and bends!! Would love to also understand how to use the metronome on a piece like this, When I practice for speed it seems simple but for some reason when there are lots of rests I get lost, seems silly I know but any pointers would be great. smile.gif

Great explanation Cosmin smile.gif Thank you made total sense to me. Right now I know I am in the mechanical phase, this new piece to me seems like you have to put a lot of feel in it to make it sound great which is awesome and what I need to do.

Hey Cosmin here is a rough take of the song without backing track, the section at 30 seconds the fast riff then the following section at 32 seconds in, still have to work on. Will have complete track with backing before Monday. Good win for Romania today against Hungary 3-0.

Hey Tom!

Sounds good man - your vibrato has improved A LOT!

Now, I understood where the problematic lick is - as I said, you need to isolate it and break it down, play it at a very slow tempo and phrase it exactly as Piotr does. Slowly raise the tempo until you can play it at the desired speed and most of all HAVE PATIENCE biggrin.gif ok?

Can't wait to see the recording with the backing track!
