Hey guys! I have been a power metal fan for many years and I always liked the fact that you can find Power Metal from different countries and notice musical differences among them. You can find German Power Metal (Helloween, Blind Guardian), Finnish Power Metal (Sonata Artica, Stratovarius, Nightwish), Swedish Power Metal (Hammerfall, Dragonforce, Nocturnal Rites), Italian Power Metal (Rhapsody, Labyrinth, Domine) & USA Power Metal (Jag Panzer, Vicious Rumors, Manowar).

There are also some power metal bands from other countries like Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, etc.

I would like to know which is your favourite power metal bands from each of the countries that I listed.

Germany
Finland
Sweden
Italy
Other countries

Royal Hunt, they recorded really cool albums with lots of nice keyboard arrangements.

Royal Hunt is a progressive melodic metal band, they have nothing in common with power metal.

The Germans rule!
My fave is of course Blind Guardian, but I also like Gamma Ray and (old)Helloween.
I Just saw the last two live a few days ago. Gamma Ray absolutely rocked, but I wasn't really impressed by Helloween.
anyway, we got some older stuff by them at the end of the show, with Kai on vocals.
I'm not really into the lighter side of power metal though (expect Nightwish).

Talking about Power Metal live shows I could only see live Helloween, Angra, Blind Guardian and Symphony X. My list is short but top level. biggrin.gif

EDIT: I forgot that I also saw Nightwish & Rhapsody!
