Here is my first playthrough using my new Ibanez 8-string. I am learning to deal with the fret buzz by adjusting my playing techniques, even after some physical guitar adjustments. I still love the guitar - and I can upgrade later. But for now - it's awesome for the price and I probably won't upgrade the pickups very soon - but we'll see. I think they sound fine for now.

If anybody else has an 8-string they want to share pics, vids, or sounds - share away! biggrin.gif Especially, if TODD here has his playthrough/review. tongue.gif I am still getting used to the guitar before I make a video review. I'm getting some tasty tones with POD Farm. Heck, I'll give you one that I made. biggrin.gif I patterned it after the band Intervals - whose recent EP "In Time" was made with a 7.

Tell me what you think! smile.gif
Brandon

Thanks guys! smile.gif This song is so simple to play, but I still love it. It's the least progressive song on the EP too. tongue.gif

Thanks, men! smile.gif I appreciate the support. I'm working on a track that showcases the low end of the guitar. smile.gif

That I would very much like to see smile.gif I am thinking about tuning my baritone to Drop E - if i am not mistaken that is the tuning you are using on the 8 string, right? I also plan on getting a pair of Bareknuckle Cold Sweat pups for it... and maybe in the future get another baritone for the drop A tuning if I like the way my actual one behaves with the new setup tongue.gif

Thanks for sharing man! I've been playing 7 strings for a year now and love it. I'm definitely getting the RG8 once I buy a new poweramp, since my current one is broken and also not mine. Thanks for the video dude, great job. smile.gif

The baritone can withstand some heavy gauge strings and low low low tunings smile.gif I tried the tuning on the current setup (Elixir baritone strings 14-70 and the stock pickups) but the strings are a bit flabby and the tone is not defined enough, so I guess that first I will setup the axe with heavier strings and see what happens to the tone. If it's still not tight and punchy enough - the Bareknuckle Cold Sweat should take care of it.

Yeah i would like to upgrade to Bareknuckles but I would rather wait to get a better 8 string one day first and then upgrade.
