I've been trying to figure out the riff Mr. Vai plays repeatedly at 0:01, 0:21 and 0:28 but I just can't seem to figure it out sad.gif

If anyone can help me out with this, I'd appreciate it smile.gif

PS: Everywhere I looked, the audio + video quality of this jam is terrible, that being one of the reasons I can't seem to figure the riff out.

Wow, thanks alot Cosmin, you went all through that trouble to make a video for me biggrin.gif Thanks so much for the help, seeing the lick in action explains a lot smile.gif and I love that guitar! smile.gif

EDIT: Also, I'd like to ask:

1. what key is Steve Vai playing in that video?
2. how did you achieve that tone? It sounds sooo close to his tone biggrin.gif

Nothing to it mate! Will get back to you with everything a bit later on when I get home, but I wanted to tell you that in the video, when I am playing the chord, I have accidentally held the E note on the B string instead of the D note biggrin.gif I guess I should've waited till this morning to shoot the little vid with a clear head - I was lazier than I don't know what yesterday evening laugh.gif Sinisa was kind enough to draw my attention smile.gif So I thought it's good to tell you first thing wink.gif

Great videos Cosmin! Good job! You made me check AMT pedals. They have a lot of pedals that emulates amps. Their site is under construction now but I'm checking the models at ebay.
