> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Alex! That's the right attitude! I'm sure that you will pass this one if you keep on working like this! I can note an improvement compared with your previous take. Your timing is better in the rhythmic section. The arpeggios sound very good. The following part is also good but the open E played with palm muting should sound tighter. The solo sounds very good and the only thing that you could improve is vibrato.

Keep on the hard work!

Hey mate! I agree with Gabe and in order not to repeat the same observations, I will point out a thing which may solve a lot of your playing issues. It is easily observable that you hold the pick in such a way that a large portion is sticking out. That leads to less control over everything you do with your right hand. Try holding the pick with as little as possible of the tip coming out and I am sure you will notice a visible change!

Keep rocking!

Yeah...Gabe is absolutely right! Your attitude is one of Your strongest points. Also...besiodes the little timing problems (just a tiny ones smile.gif ) the only thing that degrades the flavour of listening are the moments of vibrato. It's like You first overbend some notes before You start to vibrate them. It's like in 0:13 where it goes a little too much out of tune. I've seen original Joe lesson. He also get a little higher pitch while doing the first to vibratos so it's a common problem and i don't think You'll be able to do it like a MIDI INSTRUMENT. But look closer at Joe's playing - let this vibrato be softer - move Your fingers faster but within narrow bending range smile.gif
