It's been great to see good music coming out of the Hard Rock/Metal scene here in the south. It's very small scene hear but it's certainly intense. The fans here are a pretty hard core lot who just love heavy music. There is a much larger "Alternative" music scene in Athens Georgia which is where the B-52s, R.E.M. and a bunch of others came from. There is a big university there so College Radio sort of stuff is all around. I was really glad to see Sevendust get a record deal when it finally happened since they were a great live band even way back and had more than earned a shot.
