The question today is simple.... what's the most uncommon chord that you know on guitar?
It would be great if you can share the name and how to play it! smile.gif

Here's my favorite beautifully ugly chord ...
F#7b9 - 2 X 4 0 2 0 and it goes nicely to this Gmaj13b5 - 3 X 4 0 2 0

Thelonius Monk Cmaj7 voicing: X 10 X 9 12 8 (low to high - G E B C - 5 3 7 1)

I'm brain dead. I just now looked into this thread and this is not what i expected to see. I was expecting to see pictures of different types of guitar instrument cables. I was thinking to myself, how can there be that many different types of cables? biggrin.gif

Nice chord guys! Keep on sharing!

Have you ever checked the book "Chord Chemistry" by Ted Greene?

D D# F E and no idea how to call it haha

More in arpeggios than chord, it's somehow dreadful but i like the haunting vibe of it

'cluster' ... at least 3 Chromatic tones together. With distortion, chords like this are great for adding 'noise' to a track.

*It's hard to grab but it's worth it ... X X 16 12 18 12 (from high to low: E F G F#)

Started to read this yesterday. I'm about half way. Love the chord charts. Lots of info to take in. The intro got me hooked when he was talking about how if you have a chord that does not sound good to you, it may sound better if you know how to pair it with another chord. I am gonna make some time to sit down and mess with some off those chords in the chart. I think this is my favorite though! laugh.gif

You guys! It would be great to hear some musical contexts in which you are using these chords smile.gif So, who's up for posting some recordings which include the favorite chords in your playing?

The shape I posted is found in here, for instance, but as an arpeggio: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Metal-Metrics-6/ in Part 4.
