hi guys
ive been working on 4 lessons havent made it to the rec cause im working out new and easier ways to record but having some issues dry.gif will start a new thread maybe tomorrow on it. with screenshots and a quik screencapture vid of my issue, i can record and upload vid just fine actually easier than what i was doing but its not what i thought, its a compleltly different proccess than what i hear from quiktime pro.(i gotta drag 2 audio that are duplicate recording 1 from quiktime and one from logic to match on the timeline then the vid matches up perfect. pretty easy but not the one take then save i thought.

anyway this is the fourth lesson im working on
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...maiden-lesson2/.

i thought i would bump up the difficulty and do lessons that are in my reach that i really need to work alot harder on, that maybe would help me progress more by chalenging myself more?
playing this fine at 170 bpm and down this is 180.
my probelm is at 15 seconds when the double stop is played on E and D bending D to E with vibrato, having trouble holding both notes while throwing vibrato in.
and the quik lick that goes from 21 to 24 sec, not playing it clear enough and gab are you on the middle pickup postion or the bridge? i like the tone in the lesson but i cant seem to match it no matter how much i tweak my amp

Hi mate! Nice video. Regarding your question, I'm using the bridge pick up for this lesson. I think that you are on the right track with this one and the main thing to improve as you said is your bending technique. The double stop and also the normal bending need some work. The trills also should sound more consistent. Isolate that lick, make variations and practice it over metronome.

I am with Gabe on this one as well: isolate the licks that are causing trouble and work on them until you can play them at the desired speed. The movements seem correct out of what I have noticed, so there isn't much to say here. Oh, I think I'd crank the gain up a bit smile.gif It's most obvious when you do the trills and the tone somehow 'dies out'. It'd be great if you could record the troublesome licks at the desired speed against a metronome, outside the lesson context wink.gif

If I could advice You something I would use more of left hand fingers to make that bend at 0:13 You can bend the string with all avaiable fingers - it's like 3 people pushing the car instead of one. Believe me - would be much easier. Your first finger is available so You can use it to help the second one. Or...You can change the fingering. I would rather use my 3rd and pinky for the main notes and than support the bending finger with two more behind - 1st and 2nd.

on the double stop e and d? yes i was doing it that way but felt didnt have enough control, but yes i think that i should get used to that. i will practice it that way

i started to isolate the trills and some of the bends and looped those section over and over. getting closer smile.gif

I think it's good time to go back to this concept smile.gif When You get used to, You'll see that playing even on thiker gauges will be easier and...You probably don't believe me now but...this really gives the control :)Try to bring fingers closer to each other while bending. smile.gif

Also, show us a little video with your current progress - you know, if you record yourself often and then compare it with previous takes, knowing what to look for and listen to, you will be able to notice your progress as well and monitor yourself more easily wink.gif
