Hi guys! Lately, China online stores are becoming popular here in my country. They sell very cheap things, and they have free shipping. There are many publications on Ebay, but I know that there are some sites that directly offer only China stores.

Have you every bought something? What site did you use?

Maybe this is off topic but my opinion of Chinese made guitars is not good. I once came across a guy on Craigslist who was selling a Gibson les Paul, I called him went to check it out. First thing I noticed was the Gibson logo looked a bit off. And the wood looked weird. So I said thanks for his time and passed. I could tell it was fake. Then I researched a bit and saw lot of fake guitars are made in china.
I think if you buy a guitar that you like it doesn't matter where it's made, but putting the trademark logo and trying to pass it for real is a different story and to me the company making it lacks integrity. I'm sure china makes some good instruments, but what are those companies?

yeah, I wouldn't buy a fake guitar, and I could say that I wouldn't buy a guitar online without trying it first, but I have bought some china pedals and the relation quality price is good. I'm talking about Joyo Pedals. Today I discovered this one.. I wonder if anybody tried it...

With Chinese goods you get one of two things:

- The horrible, poor quality 'fakes'

- The exact same pedal as a western brand, but without the branding.

Kinda like how this gear is clearly AKAI/M-Audio stuff

And I think it was Todd that posted a while back about Joyo pedals being the same has Harley Benton/Valco pedals

Bingo smile.gif

GABRIEL: Todd here, did you see the other threads where I was talking about Chinese effect pedals being the same things that other companies are "re branding" and charging double for? Some of the brands are really cheap chinese pedals with a different logo. BIYANG and JOYO make really good pedals that get different paint here in the states and and a new logo like AKAI and then the price doubles.

I just bought two cheap Overdrives from BIYANG and JOYO and they were cheaaap and free shipping. Just hard to go wrong smile.gif Stay away from Chinese guitars. But Chinese pedals seem like a no brainer.

I hear ya smile.gif The JOYO Overdrive ($35 bucks what a steal!) that I bought is the

JOYO JF-01 Vintage Overdrive Pedal

*It uses the same JRC4588 chip found in the Tube Screamer.

I'll pass, for the same reason I pay more and buy eggs from range raised hens rather than cheap eggs produced by hens who live their entire miserable lives in tiny cages.

My Biyang Mouse (RAT clone) sounds good, especially for the price but I did have to replace the foot switch and the 9v. pwr jack after about two months of steady use. No big deal because I believe you get what you pay for but I did incur the same cost as the pedal for a new quality foot switch and new pwr jack. I also had a resistor replaced (modded) to really make it a RAT. So I guess all together that $40 pedal ended up costing me about $85.00 laugh.gif.
Will I buy another Chinese pedal. Probably but I'm gonna wait awhile until all those Joyos have been stepped about 1000 times.

Sadly, you probably already bought pedals made in china in a sweatshop without knowing it.

hahah! Nice! smile.gif That's something to watch out for. Make sure the chinese version of whatever pedal gets good reviews and see what the complaints are. I selected the JOYO and NUX pedals partly because I was able to find pix of the guts o the pedal and the fact that they use the metal foot switch bits that I like and rely on. Some cheap chinese pedals are really really cheap and flimsy. So some time in the forums at various places is well worth it.
