Well,about lessons.
I am almost ready to record Legato lesson (D scale).
I would like to tell you several words.
I usual played scales by metronome on three noes in a click.
But in this lesson I should play four notes.
Firstly it was really difficult to count.
I am going to record soon.

Hehe - I know what you mean mate - it's happening like this because you are playing more notes in the same time frame smile.gif Not 3 notes (triplets) but 4 (16th notes) - show me the recording and we'll take it from there - oh and don't rush with the tempo, record slowly but with good timing, deal?

Hi,Cosmin.
I tried to record Dm lesson in a slow temp without legato.
I think I was focused more on a count than on a technic.
When I played I counted one-two-three-four.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qfdid0qqfubkoww/Dm.m4a

It is really unusual.
And it is difficult too because the melody wants that I play triplets.

Hey mate - this is not bad at all - I can feel that you were not focused on technique, because there is a slight lack of coordination between your left and right hand smile.gif Work on getting perfect coordination at this tempo, as I guess you are pretty much accustomed to the feeling of 16th notes at this tempo now - am I correct?

Hi,Cosmin.
Yes,you are right.
It is very interesting.
When I began to count 4-th I could not catch the melody.
And I had written you about that.
but when I began to count 8-th and after 16-th
everything became clear.

With a pleasure. biggrin.gif
I am going to record today in the evening.
Well, today in the morning I started C lesson.
Oooo...
It is more difficult.
I have learnt only two parts of that.
I am not rushing,I always remember your
words.

In paralel I have learnt Alter Bridge-One Day Remains
with solo in a slow temp.

And Disturbed - Indestructible but without solo yet.

I will show you on this week.

One thing is not convenient for me.
One day Remains is in a Standart tuning
and Disturbed is in a Drop C tuning.

I set new strings 11-50 for playing in these ways.
But I don't like an always retuneing of my guitar.

Hehe - well, that's the inconvenient of having to work with different tunings and have only one guitar, mate sad.gif Looking forward to see the vids - I love both bands a lot! biggrin.gif
In respect to the recordings you have sent:

- please check the tuning of the guitar before recording, ok?
- the slow one has perfect timing but it needs a bit of cleanup
- the fast one has a bit of a timing issue in the very beginning (00:00 - 00:08), but you pick things up along the way and it stays good till the end. It needs a bit of cleaning up as well, but my general conclusion is that... You are on the right track my friend! biggrin.gif The details are all that remains for you to work on now smile.gif Good timing, clean and articulated, expressive playing is what you should aim for!

Heeey man biggrin.gif Welcome back biggrin.gif

Alright! It looks like you've been quite extra busy biggrin.gif

Let's take things one at a time wink.gif

Alternate picking - the timing is good and you have a pretty good flow at this speed, but the playing could be cleaner and there are a few mistakes here and there (notes that don't sound too clear, I mean) focus on cleaning up your playing at this speed and then push on with the tempo wink.gif

German Power Metal - the tone is a bit saturated with gain and you should focus on playing cleaner and with better definition, especially for the licks between the main riffs - for instance, see minute 0:16 - maybe trying to record it at slow speed would be a good idea wink.gif

Awake - out of what I can hear, you need to focus on timing a bit more as there are a lot of spots in which you are not dead on with the drum track. Is this a midi track? It sounds like one, so if it is, you could slow it down and focus on the song at slow tempo.

Regarding the solo - slowing down and focusing on playing clean and in good timing would be a great idea wink.gif

About the trip, well, I am not leaving Romania for the time being so whenever you feel like coming, drop a line mate!

Cosmin

Hi,Cosmin.
I'm not lost, just had nothing to show. wink.gif

I know that was not a good idea to record the things
which I am not ready technically to play at the present time.

But I thought that it would be like a test when I can compare my levels.

It is more important to focus on your tasks(lessons).
And I do it but sometimes I play different things to be more interesting.
I make experiments with different sounds to understand how it works.
I found out that the most appropriate gain for my guitar is 9 or 10 o'clock otherwise it is overgain.
Also I got Ibanez TS 808 and I try to use it.
I set on tone in 12-14 o'clock,level 15-18 o'clock and overdrive - 7 o'clock(0)

I could not find the source with normal back tracks but I will find out.

I found this and recorded without solo :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/uixszbf4vgk4pzh/awake%208.m4a

I know that the time will come and I play what I want.

Hey mate smile.gif

This is much better! Both tone and playing wise! Good timing and definition, balance and playing with the drums! biggrin.gif Please focus on the lessons now, in order to get them straight and we'll see what's next wink.gif

Hey mate smile.gif The first recording is pretty good - there are moments in which you tend to rush a bit and lose the tempo and you should focus on getting the notes clean all the time as there are a few spots in which you choke them.

The second recording, is rushed most of the time and not clean enough.. My opinion is that you should stay at the tempo in recording 6 and polish it so that it may sound immaculate! Deal?
