* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hi,Cosmin.
I begin to think the way you like.
A couple days ago I began to learn one thing by
Yngwie Malmlsteen.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0gqc0maahy4d32w/Y...0Malmlsteen.pdf
I have learnt it in a very slow temp.
Remembering your words, I began to play very slowly, trying to play purely.
There is something like you say in that piece of music.
And for play that thing I should use legato.
I will be waiting eagerly your new exercise to start learning
legato technic.

Woohah! It looks like you will be busy a lot of time learning this smile.gif

Have you got any of it down fluidly yet? Even at the slow tempo? I would love to see a recording and in respect to legato - I was thinking about this lesson, in particular:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Land-Of-Legato/ - Ben's lessons on this topic are top notch! Focus on making the notes sound even and at the same volume, even if you will be playing it a a slower tempo smile.gif ok?

Hi,Cosmin.

As I promised :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ohd3kch87vq5lke/Y...0Malmlsteen.mp3

It's terrible.
I am not ready but I am working on it.

Today I started to work on your legato lesson.
wink.gif

In parallel I am working on new covers.
I am not far from appropriate performance.
There are many mistakes but I see it.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/471gnnkf5a9fsmx/awake.mp3

I am a little tired here

https://www.dropbox.com/s/5e00rt01bhwhuhn/awake%202.mp3

I will correct

Cheers mate! Congrats once again for the collab participation biggrin.gif You contributed to one of the historical GMC pieces! biggrin.gif

Now, for the recordings:

Awake - I think you did a very good job mate! It could be a little tighter, but otherwise, it's clean and well played. Watch out for the solo tho - There are several notes which are a bit fast there and you chocked them. Could you record the solo against a metronome? No other backing I mean smile.gif

The Malmsteen phrase - it has to be more precise rhythmically before you can proceed to playing it faster wink.gif Please try to play as clean adn articulate at this speed, ok?

Cosmin

Thanks a lot.
I was a little busy.
I decided a little to distract from the lessons and recorded my second cover.

Hello mate biggrin.gif

I listened and as usual - your riffing is good! In the main riff you could make things sound a bit more articulate as there are a few notes that are a bit unclear. Otherwise, that little riff around 2.35 which accompanies the drum fill is a bit muddy and that's all I can observe so far smile.gif Good work mate! How are the other things you are working on faring so far?

Hey mate - it sounds like the notes are even in most of the situations, but now you need to work on the shapes, the stamina and the timing as in places such as 0:24, 0:29 or 0:30, the notes are choked and the timing is slipping smile.gif It is due to the fact that you need to change positions most likely. Slow practice and strong confidence will get ya there! Keep rocking mate, you are on the good path!

Hey mate smile.gif Please try to record at a slower tempo as now this one is too fast for ya.

Things to focus on- timing and dynamics - please try to make all the notes sound equal in length and volume, as some of them are barely heard

C'mon biggrin.gif step by step, we'll get there!

Hi,Cosmin.

I started to play things which I like.
And it spends a lot of time.
And I like it.
I hear my mistakes and not enough good technic and this makes me more inspired.
Sometimes I go to bed but can't sleep.
I hear some melodies in my mind and I want to get up and begin playing.

I have to schedule a time now.
I spend nearly two hours a day for the guitar playing.
I think that one hour I will do exercises and rest time for playing some covers.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgpcsvn55n5knkq/Hero%206.mp3

About legato lesson.

I did not play one day to relax my hands and today I feel much better but my playing is not enough good.

Hello there my friend smile.gif

I have a suggestion for your schedule - make a list of all the things you are practicing at the moment. You have 2 hrs a day, right? Place them here in this thread as a list and I will help you create a daily schedule smile.gif

Regarding the recordings:

- The 'Hero' song - man, you really seem to have nailed this as I can't really tell which is you and which is them biggrin.gif Can you make a video? I think that everyone would be very thrilled to see you performing this one!

- Legato: MUCH better! You have worked a lot mate biggrin.gif It's clear to me! But I can feel the tension there wink.gif It is clear that you are pushing those strings very hard - now it's time to obtain the same results with more relaxation wink.gif
