Hi Koseydon and welcome to GMC!
The problem you are describing is a very common one: barre chords are much easier on the electric guitar than on the acoustic. This has most likely nothing to do with the quality of your acoustic guitar. If I haven't played the acoustic for a while - fretting barre chords will be a pain for me as well. Usually the solution to your problem is to experiment with your left hand thumb position and left hand index finger angle. This tutorial applies to the acoustic guitar as well - so even if you have already checked it out, I would suggest going through it again. Also, make sure you are relaxed so that your hand doesn't cramp up. Keep us updated on your progress! edit - never ignore pain when practicing. When you feel pain, take a break and don't start practicing until pain is gone! |

Hi & welcome Koseydon!! I think that Kris is right about experimenting with the position. Playing acoustic guitars usually requires more strength so maybe this is just a matter of practice until your hand feels comfortable with it.
