Cool but for info incase anyone else gets interested after reading this; previous year they released a pretty similar model called rg465 and mainly its tremolo system is cheaper and I've read complaints about it. We actually waited a bit for the 3xxv to arrive where we lived but it was worth it. The trem. on it isn't the most expensive one but still feels nice and seems it will last for a long time.

Here's a 3120 photo I took a month ago smile.gif

Cosmin - if you get that JEM repaired properly the neck will be stronger than it was originally.
They'd open up that crack, drill out some wood and insert dowels, then re-glue it. It's a very common repair.

WELL SAID!! Klasaine has again nailed it. This repair is all too common on IBBY necks. So common in fact that many luthiers have a practiced hand at doing it. After the repair, it should be stronger than stock and not split again.

COSMIN: If you happen by this post, what gauge strings were on your JEM?

Hey guys, thank you for the input smile.gif Well, I have 09 - 46 right now, but I have no clue what strings it had on it while it resided with its previous 2 owners and it was already cracked when I bought it. This guitar is pretty old - '89

Well said. That thing is an heirloom. A piece of wonderful IBBY history that is worth saving and an amazing guitar.

I agree, there's a huge marketing challenge going on with every brand. As much I love new guitars, some specifications or feelings cannot be found anymore and thats the true value of an aged guitar. Weather its expensive or not.
