Hi Guys,

I've owned and used a Zoom 505 for years. Loads of great sounds that keep me happy. However it is a noisy pedal especially when there is some sort of flanging effect.

I generally don;t mind as I'm what you call a bedroom player and so worrying about noise from my pedal on stage is not something I need to worry about.

However recently I've been practicing with some friends and truning the volume up a bit!

It's noticable how load the pedal is.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the later 505 II and whether it is quieter?

Thanks

Mike

Zoom G2 is quite noisy and un-toned as well.

I'm still trying to get a decent distorted sound out the thing, I've come to the conclusion that I'm better using the insane setting on my line 6 flextone.

I have a 505II and is a reasonable, if basic, unit. I haven't heard the original 505 so I can't make a proper comparison. However, my understanding is that the 505II has only small design changes over the original so my guess would be that the sound quality probably won't differ very much.

my 505II seems rather quiet, I don't recall having any noticeable noise issues with it, and I often time play moderately loud volume levels
