Pretty cool biggrin.gif

though i think that by just adding a high gain guitar doesn't mean you have a whole new genre tongue.gif

So true, imo some of the others are quite "unnecessary", name wise that is tongue.gif

Some of these genres really seem "made up", probably by bands so they can be kinda unique biggrin.gif

I liked this video a lot as well:

Some genres seem made up, like Punk Metal. I'm pretty sure that's Thrash Metal. Thrash is known to be the spawn of Punk after all lol

I don't mind metal, in fact I like some of it a lot, but the amount of subgenres is ridiculous. It makes the genre into a joke. Someone adds some techno-synth stuff in the background of a riff, and now it's "industrial metal"?... Or a really slow tempo and now that's a new genre? NO. No it's not. That's called making songs that don't all sound the same.

These days bands start up for a while and then get a fanbase and some publicity and get interviewed or whatever and fans start talking and making up new labels, and then it spreads around on the internet and word of mouth, and becomes a new subgenre when a couple of other similar bands get labeled that way as well. lol...come on now dry.gif
