FREE! Saturator. Thanks to MERTAY!!!

http://wavearts.com/products/plugins/tube-saturator-vintage/

Few years ago this was one of the best saturator to my ears and now its free. Was cpu intensive but with todays computers and if the mix isn't dense it should be useful for many.

GETTING THE "ZAKK WYLDE" SOUND (From His Early Days with OZZY)

Zakk Wylde had a very "Zakk" tone back in his early days with ozzy. It was based partly on his FX Chain. (mostly on his fingers) but the good news is we can replicate it for free. Mostly. His chorus/flangey sound was done with a device called the YAMAHA SPX90. Which was a rack mount fx unit back in the day. It was about a thousand bux or so brand new. he paired this with Jackson GP1000 rack mount tube preamps. The patch he often used on the SPX was called "SYMPHONIC" it's a stereo chorus type patch that gave his high gain it's signature sound.

There are wads of plugins for high gain. You probably have one you like. Add this free set of plugins from BLUE CAT and use the CHORUS plugin set on CHORUSII or CHORUSIII and you can get pretty darn close to the "No More Tears" vibe. The best part is that these are free!!

Here is a guy who does a fine job of recreating vintage tones by buying all the gear needed. Here he buys Zakks old rig and he sounds really close imho.

Some great plugins that Mertay Found!!! Repost:-------
Whenever we change a parameter from an eq or a compressor, we change the overall output of a track. Keeping track of these levels can be very hard, in-fact its something even the most recognized mastering engineers always keep strong focus.

We mention room acoustics, better monitors etc. as being important for a good mix but forget the fact that we also fool ourselves while adjusting fx. Same goes for creating guitar tones, how loud you hear affects your perception thats why for guitar I always recommend a backing track but we can't use that trick when mixing individual tracks.

Here are some freeware's you guys can find, keep in mind they're as good as payware stuff;
