Was wondering if anyone had ever played Breedlove acoustic guitars. I'm thinking about buying a used one perfect shape for 450. It's a ac25sm.

Yea I did biggrin.gif went off some online reviews to decide to go check it out and played it a little and talked him down from his selling price. Not a scratch on it.
I need a set up. I'm going to put daddrio acoustic 12s and I ordered a truss wrench from stew Mac.
I set up my electrics by checking the neck with the 6th string, fret 1st and 15th check at 6th. If my electrics necks were any straighter the string would lay flat on the fret. Should I do this with acoustics to? Or should I have more relief than what I do with my electrics?

Settin it up right now oin to Home Depot to find a wrench that's long enough for the sound hole to get to truss rod. I changed the string gauge the previous owner had.. Then I'll be playing lots of acoustic. biggrin.gif

What strings and what gauge have you placed on the axe?

I went with elixir nanoweb acoustic 80/20 bronze .011-.052. And I found a 4mm wrench and adjusted the truss rod. The neck is almost straight with very little relief. I think it plays great, get a little buzz when I pick or strum hard but nothing that really bothers me. Don't have any experience with setting up acoustics so I went with general rule on electric set up.

My friend has a Breedlove, it's a great guitar, especially for the price, I think he paid around $600 for his and I would just as soon have that as any acoustic guitar I have ever heard.

Craigslist is AWSOME. I've been holding out hoping for ataylor or nice takamine. Heard of breedlove but never see a lot floating round. Kept my eye on listings everyday waiting for good price good acoustic. Then he posted this, told me he kinda splurged hoping to learn but didnt have time. It's a atlas series but a model that isn't made anymore, was hard to find pricing on it other than a ultimate guitar post that stated he purchased at guitar center for 899. And the newer atlas guitars are about the same price. Got this one for 400.

I have the same strings on my Yamaha and I am very happy with them smile.gif Great choice! biggrin.gif Can't ever go wrong with Elixirs and on the long run, they are cheaper than other strings, simply because they last longer!

My friend has a Breedlove Atlas 12, he loves the thing. He got it I want to say something like 5 years ago. He got it from a local shop that was near him. I just know it sounds good. I don't know what the the non-electric guitars are for personally! laugh.gif

Hehehe biggrin.gif The acoustic guitar is like a connection to the primary self - I don't know if it makes any sense for you guys, but for me, whenever I feel like wanting to express an idea in it's rawest and heartfelt form, I will grab the acoustic guitar first.
