I have been wanting to try my hand at knife making for a few years now, I have a piece of steel with patterns all laid out and waiting to be cut. The funny thing is, it has foiled every attempt I have made to cut it so far. It's not even hardened yet! When I finally got a band saw it took the teeth right off the blade. Taking a raw material like iron and actually making the steel you are gonna use. That is amazing. I love idea of the +Ulfberh+t They don't know who was making them, but it's amazing to this day. I would love to do something like that someday. I have no desire or need to be famous or remembered, but I would love to create something so amazing that is. It also gave me an AWESOME idea for you. It's got an oblong hole too, to fit Todd's thumb better. It's also a good picture to see the new markings so people can tell the difference in alloy. 2 dots is 2024 3 dots is 7075. I would really love a Black Powder Version in the new metal about the same size of the prototype with maybe a bit more like the BIG octavious in terms of the cut of the bevel/point. This is the feedback that I have given to the creator: "Hi mate, I took some days because I wanted to see if my first impression was real but now I can confirm that I've fallen in love with your picks! I can get a more precise picking and also a brighter tone, which gives even more definition at higher speeds. I feel more comfortable with the normal shape, because I think it's much more versatile. I can get the precision that I get with Dunlop Tortext Sharp but feels good for rhythm and Cirse stuff. So I can go from Shredding to punk rock songs easily without problem. Compared to the picks that I'm used to, it's a bit smaller but I think that I can get used to it soon. I've already used it on Cirse's rehearsals, at the studio and will surely use it this Saturday at a gig. The sharp model is incredible for fast playing. You really have to pick strongly and the result is like a machine gun. So it's cool to have one of these for this type of uses. Just as an alternative for me." I will have to look into it a bit. I like to think that some of the magic comes from the fact that they are all a little bit different due to the nature of being made by hand and not carved out in some CNC machine.
