Hmmm. Pimp my axe. Sounds like a reality show in the making. smile.gif Next we will be adding several tv's and hydraulics. laugh.gif

Look what I have coming in the mail! biggrin.gif I can hardly wait! Thanks to Vonhotch for helping me pimp my axe. cool.gif

laugh.gif The plastic rings always bug me for some reason. I have been making these for my guitars, and I like to give the edge some file work inspired by the kind of thing you would find on the spine of some custom knives.

Thanks to a Facebook photo I've seen today, I finally understood what these are laugh.gif Great work!

Unfortunately this is not my knife. I have been wanting to try my hand at knife making for a few years now, I have a piece of steel with patterns all laid out and waiting to be cut. The funny thing is, it has foiled every attempt I have made to cut it so far. It's not even hardened yet! When I finally got a band saw it took the teeth right off the blade. laugh.gif Guess I need to invest in a better blade. smile.gif

That's awesome. I love that kind of stuff. Taking a raw material like iron and actually making the steel you are gonna use. That is amazing. I love idea of the +Ulfberh+t They don't know who was making them, but it's amazing to this day. I would love to do something like that someday. I have no desire or need to be famous or remembered, but I would love to create something so amazing that is.

It also gave me an AWESOME idea for you. wink.gif

That thick one is about 5mm of pure madness. smile.gif It's got an oblong hole too, to fit Todd's thumb better. It's also a good picture to see the new markings so people can tell the difference in alloy. 2 dots is 2024 3 dots is 7075. Adds a bit of character I think. smile.gif

I think the Flying Dutchman will probably be the one I use the most. It sits in my fingers more naturally than the the others. The Octavius and The Invader are slightly longer 28/mm than a Jazz III 25mm that I am more used to. The Invader is a fraction shorter 24 mm and also less round edged for a snugger fit. I also like the way it is 3 sided..I can pick it up without looking or spinning it around and I'm ready instantly. smile.gif However, I still like other two because they make me play slightly differently with that extra couple of mm in the fingers..they slightly change the dynamic which in turn changes my playing....that's good in my opinion. cool.gif
The new pick looks good!...If its a signature one surely it will have to be a VH1!

I gotta say I still love the PROTOTYPE!! I would really love a Black Powder Version in the new metal about the same size of the prototype with maybe a bit more like the BIG octavious in terms of the cut of the bevel/point. Would that be Possible?

laugh.gif VH1.

That's what I like about the Dutchman also. You would probably like the new pick I am working on it is almost exactly the size of a Jazz III. I like small picks, the smaller the better, I might even shrink it down a bit more.

Sure thing. Just have to remember the exact blend of magic I used on that one. Was before I had set patterns. Somehow that one came out extra special. smile.gif

I think that marking the picks in respect to the alloy used is a great idea - I know how frustrated I was when I wanted to tell you which one I liked best and I simply couldn't because I didn't know which one was which laugh.gif

As you can see in this pic, I received my Von Hotch pics and I have fallen in love with them. This is the feedback that I have given to the creator:

"Hi mate, I took some days because I wanted to see if my first impression was real but now I can confirm that I've fallen in love with your picks!
I can get a more precise picking and also a brighter tone, which gives even more definition at higher speeds.
I feel more comfortable with the normal shape, because I think it's much more versatile. I can get the precision that I get with Dunlop Tortext Sharp but feels good for rhythm and Cirse stuff. So I can go from Shredding to punk rock songs easily without problem. Compared to the picks that I'm used to, it's a bit smaller but I think that I can get used to it soon. I've already used it on Cirse's rehearsals, at the studio and will surely use it this Saturday at a gig.
The sharp model is incredible for fast playing. You really have to pick strongly and the result is like a machine gun. So it's cool to have one of these for this type of uses. Just as an alternative for me."

I will be using this pics tomorrow at a festival in which plays bands like Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Buckcherry and many more! smile.gif

Might be the alloys used? The shapes are popular and have been used a long time since. I think it's difficult to patent them, but let's brainstor some ideas and help the man smile.gif

The smaller they are the easier to loose then you will have to buy more. Muah ha ha. laugh.gif

Hmm. Good thought. Maybe some patented grip hole technology? I will have to look into it a bit. I like to think that some of the magic comes from the fact that they are all a little bit different due to the nature of being made by hand and not carved out in some CNC machine.
