I didn't really have a need for a headstock tuner because I am almost always plugged into a boss tu-3, but I bought a acoustic that didnt have a tuner built in, so the first thing I did was look for a headstock tuner. I picked up a Planet waves micro headstock tuner.
I chose it because its very low profile and seemed like it would be unnoticeable on any head stock.
After using it on my acoustic I tested it with my les Paul, I detuned the guitar and retuned it using the Planet waves tuner, then checked it against my boss tu-3 and its perfect, when this is on its so small you forget it even there, the tuner swivels to get a good view on any headstock. I like this tuner so much I ordered 2 more, one for each of my guitars I play regularly.

It has a clamp on it and it adjust to fit any width of a headstock at least it works with my breedlove, strat, and lp. The clamp is a kinda teeth thing like a zip tie and has a release. smile.gif

Wonder if its visible from the "front view" on the guitar?

It's so low profile you can always leave it on even when your guitar goes in its case smile.gif

Awesome, thanks for that! I like it, in large part due to the low profile nature. Most headstock tuners just look stupid...

I think it's a nice gimmick and I was considering getting one for myself at some point, strictly for the fact that I can have it closer to my eyes biggrin.gif

It's a very useful tuner, I don't know if I'd call it a gimmick wink.gif I though whats the point in having a headstock tuner since I'm always plugged in to a tuner. But there are times when I'm not plugged in or don't bring my tuner along like when bring my guitar somewhere but don't feel like packing my pedal or pedalboard. Or when I'm just chillin and practicing not plugged in. Like samurai said most the headstock tuners look funny hangin off the headstock. Now that I got one on each guitar I'm always in tune no matter where I'm playin. biggrin.gif

I called it a gimmick simply because it's small biggrin.gif I guess, but yes, it is useful nonetheless!
