What's Your All Time Favorite Live Performance?

I recently had the discussion with some of my friends about their favorite live performances that they experienced. It got me to thinking.... What are your favorite ones you experienced? And to share, mine was Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It started off with a sad Christmas story and some really dark orchestrated music. Needless to say... I was kind of feeling depressed. Suddenly...... HOLY SHIT!!!!! They unleashed pyro, laser lights, crazy stage mechanics and face-melting Rock and Metal out of nowhere!! It was insane!! Also, one of their keyboard/piano players looks very similar to Beethoven. And when he played The Charlie Brown/Peanuts theme song during his solo act... the audience went nuts!! It was raining, big arena, big crowd - Robert Fripp was the opening act (the guitarist from King Crimson). At that time, I haven't understood a darn thing he did and I was getting bored. Suddenly after he finished, the rain gradually stopped and guess what - when Vai came out so did a big big rainbow. It was amazing for a 19 year old like me, to see the nature bowing down to his guitar idol back then Needless to say, the show was AMAZING - it was the complete set they did in the famous 2003 Live in Denver G3 with Malmsteen! At one point the singer says when he starts he wants to see how many people can get to the stage and high five him. When the song started, I remeber it was like the whole crowd errupted, and there was this continuos flow of crowd surfers making their way to the stage. There was SOOO much energy in the crowd. As cheesy as they are, KISS puts on a great show and I'm looking forward to seeing them again on August 11 at a small outdoor amphitheater about 2 miles from my house - it's the best place to see concerts, a small venue and you can sit on the lawn. I can even sit on my back porch and hear bands play, that's how I realized I had forgotten Shinedown was playing a concert there - I was out back smoking and heard them playing right up the street. I have enjoyed so many shows; Rush, Queensryche, Styx, Kiss, Dio, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Incubus, Tool, 7 Dust, Stone Sour, Slip Knot and so many others; all great in their own right, but regardless of the sound quality, the more intimate the setting, the more I enjoy the show. I think seeing Zakk Wild perform on the back of a flatbed truck in the parking lot of a local music store, with one of my friends playing drums for him, was probably the best show I have seen, no frills, just like hanging out at practice with him. It was 30° C all day, it was the last show on the last day of the festival. The band was great, the crowd was great, everything was great. Here's an hour-long excerpt: Foo Fighters at the Hurricane Festival 2011. Opposite to the concert above, it was raining pretty much all day, it was cold that evening, in the middle of the show heavy rain kicked in. It also was the last show of the last day of the festival. And I loved it Here's a short excerpt: Other mentionable concerts were Iron Maiden 2011 in Oberhausen, The Big Four 2011 and Metallica at Rock im Park 2012 where they played the entire Black Album. Probably have played twice or thrice the gigs myself than I have watched. A few years back I saw Danko Jones and it was pretty good. But live shows are much better on bluray. I remember seeing Pantera a few time at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Those were some of the most crazy and fun shows I'll ever witness. ANother really good one was with Judas Priest when Ripper Owens was with the band so they weren't playing big arenas. The show was small with like only 200 people but the performance by Ripper and the band was just amazing. It was just surreal to me to see Priest so up close. Pretty much the same thing happened when I saw Iron Maiden with Blaze Bailey and they were playing smaller venues. I was right up in front of Steve Harris and Dave Murray the whole show!
