Hi Dennis! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not really just kidding... )

Нi, Gabriel!
Thank you for getting me in!
I`m an absolute beginner (a friend of mine gave me a guitar `just to try` a month ago). Since that day I`ve realized that guitar playing is what i really love. I started practicing every day, and it really inspires me.
What I practice now - the intro from ``Welcome Home`` (Metallica) and E minor big scale. It`s pretty hard, but i Know it`s gonna be better every day)) - I`ll make a video soon.
I don`t have any strengh sides in playing a guitar. My only srengt side is a big desire to get better)).

My favorite bands - Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Guns`n Roses, Ozzy Osborne.
At the same time i like grunge bands from 90`s - Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots.
What i really like to listen right now - Cold, Crossfade,

It`s great to be here))
I`ll try to do all my best

Hey man! Those are really good songs and bands! Cold by Crossfade is fantastic! Do you have any audio or video of you playing? Are you able to record yourself and post it here?

Hi man! Thanks for the video! The song is evolving ok! You still have to work on those clean arpeggios but be sure that you are on the right track! We should start creating a diary routine based on exercises and GMC lessons. Also it would be good if we have 1 lesson per week to work on and you post your progress here. Do you have some lessons in mind? have you started with any lesson from GMC?

Also start checking this exercises that will help us to develop a good technique routine:

Hi, Gabriel!
Thank you!
I'll start with the exercises.
And the lesson I would try to start practicing is ''Iron maden for beginners'' (but I think it'll be pretty hard for me at the present time.

Excellent! That lesson is a good choice to start our work. I'll wait for your take!

Hi, Gabriel! I,ve been practicing this lesson for 3 weeks every day)). I really liked it. Here is a "result" (only 70 bpm for now)
Can you please recommend me something to read about basis of a theory. For example, i don't know anything about notes, types of chords, intervals etc.
Thanks!!

Hi mate! Good to see you working on this lesson. There are some things to re-check on this lesson.

- the rhythm used for the phrase at 01:03 is different.
- The harmonized melody that starts at 01:11 doesn't sounds good. Compare what you are playing with the tabs.

Besides this, I think that you are on the right track, just keep on practicing it.

Regarding theory, please check this thread and start with those chapters, and keep me updated.

Hi, Gabriel! I tried to work on one more lesson.

http://soundcloud.com/denis-kurnosikov/unt...mix-m4a/s-5HZG9

It was much easier than the first one (I am still practicing "Iron maiden for beginners", but the tempo is too slow).

Hi mate. Nice take. There are some little tweaks to do:

1. Review some bends (00:14, 00:35) because there are a bit faster, compared with the originals and you don't reach the correct pitch.
2. You guitar tuning is not perfect, recheck it. (for example that note at 00:31 sounds very out of tune)
3. Your timing is not bad but it can sound even tighter.

It has been a great decision to work on this one. Please choose more lessons at this level to work on.
