Hi Gabriel !

The routine is going really good ! smile.gif
My little finger is getting better every day for legatos.

I also want to learn the solo of the song "Heartbreaker" from Led zeppelin. I think some parts are too hard for me , how can I study for that solo do you think ?

Hi mate! Great to see you working hard! smile.gif

Well that's not an easy solo. I think that one of the difficult parts are those fast sections which I think are not played 100% clear in the original tune, and that are very irregular (like an improvisation) so if you are not used to play fast solos this is not the best one to start. However we can go for it if you are patient and persistent. smile.gif

What do you think? Do you already have the tabs? Are you learning it by ear?

Yes ! Those are the most difficult parts.
I have the tabs , and I can play easily the first parts till the fast sections . Maybe I should make something like improvisation too ?
Not trying to play exactly the same notes , but playing like the way he does and similar notes. What do you think ?

yes, that's exactly what I would do with those licks. These are mostly rocker repetitive licks than then has been use by lots of guitarists like Zakk Wylde, Slash, Gary Moore, Doug Aldridge and many others... So it will be much more useful to get an idea an create your own version than dedicating lots of time playing everything exactly like the recording.

Hi mate! You are doing a very good job with the solo. I preffer the first one because it has more feeling, it's more connected to the original song. I like how you end the those bends at 00:18, closer to Jimmy. I think that the simple parts must be very close to the original while the faster can be played more freely. I would adjust a bit more the part around 00:25 but the best would be to play it over backing track. Have you tried over this version?

Thanks, I haven't tried it with a backtrack yet. It'll be funnier smile.gif
I'm gonna continue to work on the fast parts and send you another take again !

Hi ,

I'm trying to stick to the routine , and it's really helping to my playing. Thanks! smile.gif
After my exams , I'm gonna post here some takes of the legato , tapping and sweeping techniques and also the Heartbreaker solo.
I'm also working on the theorie , I've started from the first chapter of The Professor's lessons.

And here are some of my improvisations :

Rocking in E minor lesson backtrack :

(I don't know how to play harmonica biggrin.gif )

Hey mate! I'm glad to know that the routine is being effective and that you are already noting results!! smile.gif

Your improvisations sound good, I can notice that you still have to be able to play more defined melodies but it's just a matter of practice and training the connection between your mind and your fingers. By the way the first improvisation evolves very good, it's very close mate.

Great job! Keep on working hard.

Hi !
the alternate picking lesson is going good , I can post a take for it ,
my little finger needs to be stronger for legatos , I'm working on it ,
I started to make with 3 and 4 strings at the sweep picking lesson of Muris.
The tapping is going good , I'm working on your lesson

I've looked at the theory program a bit , and I started to learn songs by ear , to learn some other scales and to learn the notes on the neck

What can we add now ?

It's going good ! The next week I'll have more free time , so I can finally post some REC takes and the routine lessons ,
In your tapping lesson at the last part , I can't easily reach to the 7th fret from the 2nd .
I'm gonna work on that but how can I work for that?

Hi mate, thanks for the update! Regarding the big stretches, the best way to work them is to just keep your left hand for some seconds / minutes in that position to get is used to the stretch. Another good way to train this is creating your own exercises based on the shape that is giving trouble.

Here you have an example of what I mean:
