I got a welcome message from Cosmin inviting me to introduce myself to the community, so here I am.

I am 25 years old and new at guitar, I had started learning how to play electric guitar by myself when I was about 19-20 after having messed around with bass guitar for about a year before that. When I turned 21 I became heavily involved in singing Gregorian chant and spent most of my music time learning that, followed by other choral arrangements.

I have 3 children 2.5, 1., .5 (all born exactly 1 year apart Nov 20, 21, 18) with a fourth on the way in December, I started thinking about the fact that I wanted all of them to learn instruments. I also know that children can smell hypocrisy a mile away, so I decided to pick up guitar again to set a good example and also because I find it helps me loosen up a bit.

I really enjoy listening to the different clips uploaded on the website and hearing such a wide variety of music.

Some of my favorite guitarists are: Dick Dale, Zakk Wylde, and Bob Balch

My favorite composer (write now): Vivaldi

Favorite Choral Group: Ensemble Organum

Favorite Contemporary Pianist: Helen Jane Long

My Current Favorite Rock Song : Hail Mary by Dark New Day

Right now I am trying to work on practicing at least 15 minutes, preferably 30 minutes every day. My goal by Christmas is to be able to play one upbeat song, and one Christmas song. I really would like to be able to play the Winter Tune https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Winter-Tune/, however it is a bit out of my league at this point. If anyone has any suggestions on a sequence of easier lessons to work up to that one for Christmas, I would be very attentive to your advice.

Thank you for taking the time to read!

Hello mate - glad you decided to introduce yourself smile.gif I also wanted to add the fact that Vivaldi is my fav composer as well!

It seems like you know where you want to go, so let's see what you have to do to be able to walk on that road smile.gif

In order to be able to play the 'Winter tune' you will need to be able to play with good timing, to control power chords, vibrato and picking, bending, hammer ons and pull offs. Now, in order to know where to start with the recommendations, could you show us some recordings of yourself? Those would help a lot smile.gif

Cosmin

Great to see you in the forum and welcome to GMC!

Cool introduction and its awesome that you plan to inspire your children to play an instrument.
When they grow up - you'll have a full band smile.gif

About the winter tune lesson - that one is really beautiful and I think you'll be able to master it by December.
