Hello,

I have a question about recording.

I see that some people make records where they play 3 guitar lines and put it together.

What program do you need for this and how do you record it?

Thanks in advance,

Grtz tim

Hi mate! You can use editors loike Sony Vegas to put those vids together and synchronize the audio. One problem for You (I'm just guessing) is that You would have to use any DAW for multitrack recording instead of camera built-in microphone.

It could be done this way

1. Set the DAW (Reaper, Cubase etc) to record from stereo out (set a good guitar to backing track proportion (backing tracks are not downloadable)
2. After first take import what You recorded to a DAW and make another take with camera. This time we have 2 tracks in DAW - 1 track is take 1 (backing + first guitar solo) and a new track to record GUITAR ONLY.
3. Add 3rd track (again guitar only) and record 3rd take with Your cam.
4. Make an audio mixdown of all 3 tracks
5. import it to video editor
6. Import all 3 videos and synchronize them to imported audio.
7. Turn off all tracks with camera audio (leave only Daw mixdown)
8. Render the movie

I hope It would help You at some point. Cheers! smile.gif

Hey tflava - this video explains everything in detail and I really think you should watch it and try things smile.gif At first, it seemed uber difficult to me as well, back in 2007 let's say, but with time and with constant research, I managed to learn and use programs meant for recording. let us know how it goes!

Do you want to record VIDEO with AUDIO? OR just record AUDIO? IF you just want to record AUDIO download

1.)REAPER for free

2.)Guitar Rig Free (for free)

and watch the intro video in this thread. You can record as many tracks as you like smile.gif It's called "overdubbing".

Hope that helps!

Todd
