Definately! biggrin.gif

It depends on what I play:
for "fast" playing I use the John Petrucci Jazz III,
for (mostly) rhythm playing I use Tortex 1.14
and for playing on my acoustic I use Martin .46

I'm now using "sharp" shape and I'm very happy with it. The last one is also interesting, who knows any model of them?

Anything above 0.7mm thickness, sharp edge and teardrop shape works for me smile.gif

For me - the Von Hotch picks have taken the place of everything I've been using so far and all my guitar playing mates with whom I have managed to share them with, were very keen on getting them, so I redirected them towards the V-man's site and FB page.

Dimebag solos are crushing with these picks, as I can hear that cling cling chuck chuck laugh.gif when picking! Amazing biggrin.gif

I've found that I tend to like picks like a Jazz III in size but a bit pointier at the tip and slightly rounder profile. And about 1.5mm thick. And of course I like them made of aluminum. I may be a bit biased though. smile.gif

I WANT THAT!!

I use my little red faithful companion: Jazz III. It fits me perfectly!
I've also used V-Picks now and again. I even have a leather pouch for them on my keychain!

Ha, I've got exactly that one with '208' smile.gif I used to play my bass guitar with that one.. feels unnatural to me for playing guitar.

I think its a finger pickers pick biggrin.gif at first I also hated it but then got used to keeping the right hand very relaxed, it works great that way but yeah not for everybody smile.gif

Today picks simply mean tone to me, I usually find myself using what sounds better on clean rather than comfortable on distortion.

Same here!!! The VON HOTCH CUSTOM PICKS have taken over my pick collection!!!

I notice that the pick chart you posted shows that SHARP picks start getting popular in the last few years. I've been trying to get folks to use sharp picks for shredding since the dawn of time, it feels like smile.gif It's good to see it catching on in recent years.

I am working with von to make a "SIGNATURE PICK LINE" built for Shredding, for Shredders, by a Shredder smile.gif Granted thats a really focused/narrow sort of thing, but it's a purpose built pick. Not to say you can't shred with a thin/round pick, because you can!!! smile.gif Just that I don't, so my sig pick isn't going to be thin or round. smile.gif It's going to be THICK and SHARP smile.gif Probably 1.5 MM with a large bevel and point and with the hole in the middle for grip. Probably the BLACK COAT as well!!!

Haha! Awesome collection Todd - last evening I had the last rehearsal with Domination - the Pantera tribute band for the gig I am having tonight and the bass player was very intrigued with the picks I was using - he had the impression that metal on metal will feel a little bit weird but I am sure he will change his mind soon enough. Anyway - Pantera and Von Hotch picks go hand in hand!

Wow! I am envious! Been speaking to Von about a set of custom picks, but I'm a bit short on the money, but the more I look at this picture the more I feel like I have to have a vonhotch pick!

The BEST money you will ever spend!!!! I just freaking LOVE MY VON PICKS!!!! Before this I was a HUGE fan of Vpicks and I even have a Signature V-Pick from Vinnie!! They are very nice picks to be sure, but ever since I got the first OCTAVIOUS, I just could not put it down!! I"m still using the original prototype!

I actually am more of a rhythm player and prefer the heavier picks. I use a Tortex Dunlop Jazz 1.14mm. I got into the habit of heavier picks when learning pinch harmonics as a beginner. It just stuck.
