I joined this site to step up my access to cut to the bone hard core emotion-filled Blues guitar lessons. You know, the music where you just want to grab a beer and wonder where it all went wrong...

Are there any Blues Brothers and Sisters out there that can point me to awesome lessons in this area?

Thank you, Rick Haverland from North Carolina

Hey Rick! Wellcome in the familly smile.gif First of all try to post some of Your playing so we could have a reference point for lessons suggestion.

At the very beginning You could try some Piotr's lessons. He's got a really nice touch in the blues playing. For example:

You might also find Sinisa's lessons usefull - he's got a great phrasing too! smile.gif

My skill level is between early to mid level intermediate. Rather than focus on learning famous songs. I have decided to focus on playing original strong Blues pieces such as I have seen posted by yourself and others on this site. When folks hear these 12 bar etc pieces, they know it's the sound of the Blues right away. That is the music I want to learn how to play... Rick

Welcome to GMC Rick!

Great to see you in the forum.

Here are some blues goodies I think you'd like :

* Blues lick of the day : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/lick-of-the-day-v2/blues/

* John Hatcher's acoustic blues lessons : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/instructor/John-Hatcher/

* Main blues guitar lessons archive on GMC: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/video-lessons/blues/

I would suggest browsing the blues archive and learning lessons you find cool sounding. Once you learn the lesson, try applying what you have learned over the backing track, but this time improvising and changing things here and there. This is a very good way to make quick progress and we all borrow licks from each other which leads to your own style and variations.

GMC Blues Instructors,

Thank you all. In my almost one year journey to date to become a meaningful Blues guitarist from scratch, I have been searching the Internet for lesson sites where I may learn independent and original Blues Rhythm and Lead material. In the process I nave joined at least a dozen sites.

No other site even comes close to the GMC site in two categories: 1) breadth and depth of original Blues guitar lessons and 2) making me feel personally welcome to a site and its content

I am thrilled to know my time can now be used for practicing, not searching.

Time to get down to work ohmy.gif
