Seeing as the few people i know who play guitar play mostly acoustic sounding stuff, i think it would potentially benefit GMC to have a few Video Lessons over acoustic guitar. If someone new is looking to start online lessons and has only an acoustic guitar, then GMC looks pretty intimidating with its taps and fast riffs. Maybe one or two beginner type lessons w\ an acoustic would bring more beginners and acoustic lovers to GMC. I know Muris could Develop a great one! biggrin.gif as well as other instructors on this site.

Ive always liked the sound of acoustic. Subtle, mellower sound. Its pleasant to the ears and everything. Easy to listen to even if you suck.

Great idea. Acoustic is always fun.

plus it's a good strength builder (strings are usually farther spaced and action is usually higher).

and it's fun at those random times when someone just so happened to bring an acoustic guitar to the given gathering and you can just play sing-alongs and impress all the ladies. smile.gif

Same here Layzer.

I would love an acoustic lesson. People who don't play don't realize how different the acoustic is from the electric. They just think a guitar is a guitar. I must admit until i got my electric I didn't realize how big a difference there was.

I would LOVE some flamenco guitar lessons. I've always wanted to learn that style, but finding lessons online is nearly impossible, and there's no teacher within 200 miles of where I live.

You want to see some real shredding, check out Paco De Lucia and Jesse Cooke.

Hey guys!
Speaking of acoustic music, here's an amazing acoustic guitar player that you may of heard of and who's been around for a while: Mr. Leo Kottke, probably my favorite acoustic guitar player.

I agree, this site could really use some more acousic lessons, and another advanced chording lesson would be cool.
And Mr. Leo Kottke is awsome, thats some of the best acoustic playing ive ever seen.

Kris i think a whole Acoustic Section would turn on a lot of undecided potential members of GMC to the idea of joining. More members would be great. I find this community more helpful and kind than any other instructional or hobby website anywhere on the web. cool.gif Flamenco, acoustic slide, and other various acoustic styles would be enough for me to purchase an acoustic which i need badly!! My Old one has been out of commission for a while now.

WOW! I'd love to see this!! biggrin.gif

We could have an acoustic series running parallel to the usual one on the start page - great idea!

I certainly agree, we need acoustic lessons.

I will just throw in these links of Australian acoustic guitarists. These guys amaze me. Jeff Lang and The John Butler Trio. Jeff Lang isnt so well known, The JBT are starting to get pretty popular, and unfortunately they have signed to a record company and their music has become a bit too commercial. So i will show you their older stuff smile.gif

Jeff Lang - 1996 - Are You Experienced?

Jeff Lang - 2007 - Here She Comes Again
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKbadtCbI0g

John Butler Trio - Instrumental
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xZw9D9c18E

John Butler Trio - Betterman ( Drum and Double Bass solo's are pretty fantastic in this also)

I hope you all enjoy.
