May 17 2008, 03:01 AM	GMC:er Posts: 39 Joined: 27-March 07	I've been a member here for 14 months, and I'm very surprised with how well I'm able to play after looking back to when I started guitar 16 months ago. When I first started, all the tips I got told me to start slow, practice every day, and use a metronome to record technical progress. All of these tips combined with the great lessons have allowed me to play like I never thought was possible, and I'm still improving every day. I can't wait to see next week, let alone next year Anyway, I've greatly improved my sweep picking this week. I've even begun to start sweep picking + tap licks which sound ridiculous when played to speed (at least to my ear). I've learnt how to play some kick ass lydian/mixolydian shred's and soloing thanks to Muris and David Walli and some sweet roided out scales thanks to kris. Especially with chords, complex right hand rhythms and changes are easy for me now.. I've learned a few new chords, and I'm faster than I used to be. Even my guitar feels better in my hands - I somehow got more familiar with it. It is no longer just playing around but serious practicing and the improvements I've made keep me motivated. The fact of hardly know anything do much easier than the improvements arrive, anyway during this first week, thanks to Kris's lessons and Andrew's theory, I have noticed improvement in the way I do the exercises and understand better what the things mean. I think I finally got the 'relaxed playing' thing down! Or at least, I'm on the right path. Playing feels really natural and smooth now. How have you improved?
