Sorry guys, I'm going to have to drop out of this one, I've been trying to use different S/Wares as you know and haven't quite got it co-ordinated yet.
Have just got my main Studio PC loaded with Linux and just need to sort a few things out and I'll be back in the mix for the next one!!

Here is my AUDIO FILE SOLO ONLY smile.gif Vid to Follow!! It has a long silence at the start as I being the solo at the classical part in the middle. It should line up perfectly when dropped in a DAW, hopefully smile.gif Ideally, it should sound like it does in the sound cloud preview.

Attached File  Winter_Todd_CollabProject_Solo.mp3 ( 786.65K ) Number of downloads: 30

Here it is an an AIF high quality file zipped just in case the MP3 doesn't want to line up right for timing. Sometimes MP3 files can cause synch issues in a daw project when mixed with uncompressed files.

Attached File  ToddSoloOnlyAif.aif.zip ( 6.36MB ) Number of downloads: 29

Here is my Vid!!! smile.gif

*Here is the download link on dropbox also.

Todd here wink.gif I started at the classical breakdown in the middle. Great bit! Begging for a bit of Yngwieesque shredding in there so I went a bit nuts. smile.gif Here is the result. Vid and files to follow!

That's a good point, my take also starts in the end section of the backing. Would it be best to do the same and upload my audio with the length of the whole backing muted so its the correct length?

Yes. This i great and I've asked for it previously smile.gif Believe me or not but even with some great players it's still not a midi track. Some of the notes are always a bit in front of, or behind the beat and it's hard to make perfect synchro by ear. This is also a reason of much more time taken to import all takes. One more thing. This will work only if You import Your backing to the daw and move it to the very beginning of the session "home" or "0 locator". Then You set the locators to the very beginning of the backing and it's end. This way You will export Your solo with perfect sync. Otherwise it will take me some time find best sync.

Hey guys, I am having some massive computer failures on top of being totally swamped at work, I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make a video for this one sad.gif I'll do my best to upload files for my take ASAP and try to take a picture to go with it. I'll do video for the next one!

Great mate! Thanks for your take! Don't worry about video, you can send us a pic and we will add your take into the final video!

WELL SAID!! Having to line up tracks manually that don't start at "0" can be a iffy at best. It's a good idea to line up the backing and your solo track on any collab so that the person putting them together can drop them in and have them synch up and then edit from there.

Hey mate - thanks for the take - I think that it's better that you focused on just one part as we have discussed - now, the ideas are very good but the timing and bending pitches can be improved here. It's just a matter of execution, so might be you can throw in another shot focusing primarily on reaching the pitches while bending?

Thanks tonyk. I used a mic when I recorded it a couple weeks ago. I just shot the video over the same track and played along to it.

okay, I've finally managed to put together all of my audio files for my contribution! I've got several parts that can be taken individually and place in any section of the final product you would like, feel free to put any of them in whatever spot you'd like. Here's also a short video with of my actual guitar section
