Hey guys! Here's what I'm working on. What do you guys think about the tone? It's my second time recording , so I'm not really sure if it's good or not.

Now that was nice! Thanx for the take. I like that crunchy drive You use there smile.gif Also some simple yet very fine phrasing concepts for that track smile.gif

Hey Alisson - I agree with Darius on his ideas and I like the 'question/answer' approach. The only thing you could work on, would be to make the phrasing sound a bit more fluid - that doesn't mean you have to change anything in terms of composition, but practice it more and record when you can play it fluidly and with a lot of feel wink.gif keep rocking!

That sounds like a great plan Alisson! In general, your ideas are good and musical, but you need to perfect them before recording to get the most out of your playing, deal? smile.gif

Darius is right smile.gif If you feel like entering the collab but in the same time, you fear that your take 'might not be good enough' you are dead wrong smile.gif Send any of us a PM or post the question or idea here. We will help out in demonstrating that there's beauty in every idea, as long as we learn how to exploit it properly.

you're no doubt better off getting advice from a better player than me.... but... listening to both parts a few times, I thought its sounding good.
I especially liked the second one. Youve got a really cool release on 0.12, I really liked the note you landed on and the bends immediately after were very nice indeed smile.gif Im not sure of the correct terms but you get a cool 'snap' to them.
sounds good, carry on sir smile.gif

Sounds like you got something good cooking. smile.gif The :16 second solo sounded good playing wise but felt it could used one more lick at the end to close it out…. like you did with the :18 imrpov.

I've been working out this solo for a couple days. I loaned out my camera so I'll have to shoot the video later!

I'd be curious to know what you think of the guitar tone here? I'm working with a new mic (sm57) and been working on improving my recordings. I still need to purchase a good set of monitors to give myself better judgement.

Excellent take man smile.gif If you are to ask me, the playing can stay like this! Dynamics, melody and technique! About the tone - it has something of the tone you had so far but also a different edge, maybe I am lead by the open string lick you did? I am a fan of those smile.gif

Howdy mate smile.gif I like the tone and your articulation is almost there (some notes would require a bit more attention so that they may reach the intended pitch) but the general thing that you need to work on would be direction. The playing needs to head somewhere and that is obtained by working with a clear rhythmic path in combination with the note choice. The licks you used are good, but they are staying instead of leading to a direction. Try to tie them up and we'll take it from there smile.gif

Thanks Bleez, DeGroot and Cosmin. I'll take all of this into consideration and see if I can lead into more direction rather than 'staying'...I usually work on all the collabs although never post as they never seem right. I'd describe myself as an improvisor rather than a learner of lead lines..maybe that's my problem. This years resolution is to try and post a bit of music rather than hide...I'll do some more impro and hopefully get something better together! smile.gif

Thanks Cosmin smile.gif I suppose it isn't a drastic tone change since I'm only changing the mic... It is still the same amp and guitar as I normally use. I will keep this take and send you guys video soon!
