Wow, that's really cool. In third grade the class voted me as most likely to be an author when I grow up because I wrote a thirty or so page story for the class library. Now I'm in the middle of writing a book, about 200 pages in, but I sort of got stuck around when I joined GMC. I've been curious about publishing through kindle and stuff, it all sounds cool. Anyway, congratulations about the novel happy.gif

Wow smile.gif Well now, what's the book about biggrin.gif Don't be shy, share with us too!

Hey that's great... I'd go back to the novel in bits and pieces. I'd have days or productivity and then not touch it for weeks. You'll get there, keep going at it !

The publishing through KDP is really easy. You can upload an HTML file and preview it as it will look on the various devices. The time consuming bit that was new to me was formatting the document to work on Kindle. There is a free PDF guide you can download direct from them to guide you through the process when you're ready.

This is awesome, Ben. Congratulations! I'll have to read it at some point.

You seem to be productive in many creative areas. What's next, a horror movie?

But shy is all I ever am, really! biggrin.gif I've been brainstorming ideas lately because I feel that the story is lacking a bit. It's all fantasy nonsense at the moment. I added this sort of evil dark elf looking dude named Adalgar. He's been getting up to all sorts of mischief bringing long dead creatures back to life under his control (you know, trolls and dragons and such) and just generally causing chaos. I'm still switching stuff around so I can't say much because it will likely change. It starts with two guys that are 17 and 18, and they've been friends since they met when they were little, like 4 or 5. Their little village gets messed up by one of Adalgar's critters and they just kinda get sent all over the world I made up trying to fix all the bad things that are happening.

Very nice!! I love fantasy novels and fantasy literature in general biggrin.gif Just saw the Hobbit: The desolation of Smaug last evening and it was killer. I also read the book about 11-12 years ago, so I know the ending as well tongue.gif

All in all - I'd love to read it when it's ready!

Sooo... I don't have a Kindle or a tablet and I wouldn't want to read a book in my phone; so I registered at Amazon, downloaded the Kindle desktop application and bought The Hammer by Ben Higgins. Will start reading any minute!

Is it just as easy to buy albums on iTunes without a Mac?

Heeeeeeey, that's awesome - thank you and I hope you enjoy it smile.gif

Well I don't have a Mac and I was able to download itunes easily. I haven't bought anything off of it.. although I did download a free Metallica concert ages ago.
