So is it good that a band continues performing their classic catalog with new and "guest" vocalists, or should it just be over and done with? Honestly, I don't know how to answer this one...

Guess it depends on much of a purist one is as a fan. For example, Carcass in tour again (Yay!) but Michael Amott is not in the touring version. Still, it's great they are playing shows and finally getting the appreciate they have deserved for 20+ years. But some of the Carcass faithful decried the lack of "original lineup". Saying "it's not really carcass". Personally, I'd still pay to see them smile.gif

If the fans are willing to accept the new guy(s). Its probably impossible to replace Freddie Mercury but if youre really into Queen then it would still be good to see them live. Id pay to see any pink floyd line up that had dave gilmour in it.

I saw Black Sabbath recently, minus Bill Ward, and it was one of the best gigs Ive ever seen, although I probably wouldnt have went if Tony and Ozzy hadnt been there tbh.

I think it's a matter of how good the new guy is and what he can bring to the table smile.gif People should understand that folks cannot retire just because one guy is out. They should like THE BAND not the vocalist/guitarist, whatever.

Sincerely is weird to see a band like Queen with another singer that isn't Freddy Mercury. It's like seing U2 without Bono, Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger. However, if I were a fan, at least I would find cool to see the other members of the band playing the songs, at least once in my life. So it's a nice present to fans. And on the other hand, if they feel to do it, why not? Fans can decide if they go or not to the concert and everybody is happy.

Good point here Gabi, you can't force the guys in Queen to stop making music together and frankly, it would be weird to have them show up under another name... I think that would be the weirdest actually, but I have no reason to why I feel this way. What do you think?
