I was in a Guitar Center this weekend and they had the 8 string version of that guitar (for a phenomenal price) but no 7's in the shop. Didn't have time to stop and play it but it looked massive. Between my Strat and my Ibanez, the Ibanez definitely has the wider neck as it is so I'm really interested to see how the 7 or 8 feels. The hardest thing about the 7 is just how it throws your perception off. You're not always sure where you are. So that's the only thing I've had to adjust to. Yeah, my RG's neck is not too thick at all but it is noticeably wider than my strat's, although still very comfortable to me, in some cases even more comfortable. Given how long I've played a 6 string I would guess I will prefer that too like you but at the price they are asking for these it's hard not to go grab one just to have it. There have been dozens of times I've really wanted to get into the heavy drop tune riffing but my guitars just aren't built for it. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
