> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Around the World - India, Sitar Style by Sinisa Cekic

I used the Electro-Harmonix Ravish Sitar guitar pedal. Sinisa's finger vibrato is pretty unique. This is my best attempt.

Hey amigo smile.gif

I think you basically got the hang of things, but that specific vibrato still needs some work - I would suggest you to use a clean tone and try to play against Sinisa's recording to get the vibrato and then, use the Sitar pedal and record it yourself smile.gif

Keep rocking!

Hi Palacios, as Cosmin said, you have to focus on vibrato to get the Sitar style sound closer. Sinisa'a vibrato on this lesson is very unique and is that one used by Sitar players so listen to some India music and practice this one over the original lesson to try to imitate the effect.

Very hard to judge this take with this crazy sitar tone smile.gif Everything here seems pretty descent aside from vibrato mentioned by Cosmin. It more a phrasing lesson than technical so we don't have to be such a cruel on those details smile.gif For me it's a pass smile.gif
