I will talk about this with the guys again. Let's see what happens. There is another phenomenon that happens in Argentina,. There is a big part of rock fans (silly people) who thinks that a band "sell themselves" when they sing in English. This can sound weird for you, but this also happens here... ohmy.gif

Actually, yeah, it sounds a bit weird... I mean, why wouldn't someone want for their band to reach big heights with their music? Are the people such big nationalists there?

I speak both languages and know what Gab means....I think its the same in Spain to an extent. Its called pride. I would imagine South America may have a lot of National pride with their own people sticking to Spanish as opposed to bowing down to North American/English needs...And we all know, as Artists if you do something just for commercial purposes...then basically you are 'selling out' from an Artistic point of view...It is generally accepted that Artists who paint...should paint what they want to and not paint what sells...I assume this could be even more stronger when a language and the beauty of that language is used...and shunned when translated for gain????

You explained this so well. This is exactly what happens. It's a mix of pride with "the commercial purposes". Here it seems that an artist shouldn't earn money, shouldn't be rich, so even the most popular artists don't use to show themselves driving expensive cars or living in expensive houses as it happens in USA for example.

At the same time, people pays lots of money and sold out stadiums for international bands while they complain when a local artist charges US$10 for ticket... where is the nationalist there?

Thank you for the explanation guys - I was thinking it was like that but what Gabi said above is JUST THE SAME IN ROMANIA. 'Oh, there's a ticket at your concert??? How come?' And then they comment on the forums: 'There's no local scene, there are no good bands!' and so on smile.gif It's a vicious circle that doesn't end smile.gif

CD BABY is a great way for anyone who wants to, to be able to put their album on itunes so if any fellow GMCers have enough songs, put it together and pay the $50 bux and get it on iTunes!! smile.gif Assuming of course, it's something good enough to share.

KUDOS!! To Gabriel for leading the way smile.gif Please do keep up updated on your experience with CD BABY!

Hey guys! I'm happy to announce that Cirse's Rompiente album is now available on iTunes. I hope that this is a first step to reach new countries with this one. It should be soon available in other sites like Rhapsody, Deezer and even Spotify.

This is the link:
https://itunes.apple.com/ar/album/rompiente/id833905392?ls=1

[attachment=36102:cirse_rompiente.jpg]

We used CDBABY to distribute the album. Then I will tell you the experience with them. smile.gif

yes! We are on Spotify now! I'm trying to make the account verified and to fill Cirse's info on Spotify but I couldn't yet. I have to dedicate some more time to it. I will also add the other albums.
