I agree with Darius. One step at a time. It's not about speed, but using the speed in a melodic way - and I don't always do that, I must admit. But then again, I don't have full control over my technique, and I think if ever I got to where I want to be, maybe I could use speedier licks in an even more tasteful way (I guess you could say my aim is somewhat what Guido is presenting in his Lukather lesson ) You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. I really don't know what the problem was but in the end I had to re-format my SSD and do a fresh install of Win 7 (couldn't just do an update) which took 4 or 5 attempts!! (Had to re-format between each attempt too!!) Anyway, 7 seems to be stable and running OK now so now I have a couple of days of just sitting here re-installing stuff and installing my new Softwares too!! Oh the excitement is killing me!!! Sounds like a similar problem to what I had with my laptop when installing Windows 7 some week or two back. I had to try and install it 5 times to get it working in the end. I have a few fast pentatonic runs within some of the lessons Im working on, I could start with one of those and see if I can get it into some backings. It's annoying for You regular listeners for some time but since You get more licks You'll now absue this one that much. It's a netural and most effective way. For example...I have my arpeggios period and I'll make some of You bored with it but...this gives me ability to test as many configurations as possible. Also it's about how to learn to use one lick over many harmonic concepts. Helps a lot when You improvise. Maybe You coul try and show us You lick of choice that you'll be working with ?
