Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Melodic Yoppe by Yoppe

hey guys, i've I'm a self taught guitar player for the most part. On and off again when my own guitar progress gets stale I've come to gmc for inspiration. This is my first submission, and the first time i've ever had my playing analyzed. I thought i'd start with a fun phrasing lesson. Hope you enjoy, and thanks in advance for the input.

Hey mate smile.gif

I think you are a very good player! Aside from a few bends in the last seconds, that were almost in pitch, I don't think I can say that there's something out of place. The recording could be better of course, but that will be solved once you will use a DAW and record separate sound, from the cam smile.gif

Here's a link from which you can learn a thing or two about that:

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi friend! Congrats on your first REC take! I can say that this is a very good one, with a killer energy and feeling. It's a pity that the mix sounds weird so we can't appreciate 100% your playing. Check out the video that Cosmin shared and let us know if you need some more help with it.

Cheers!

Congrats on Your REC premiere! smile.gif

First some tech tips. Aside from the DAW audio suggestion if You really have to deliver the audio from the cam You have to know some basic things like some frequencies cancel due to phase issues. You have a cam that takes audio form the speakers behind (or it's sides) + additional sounds comming from exaclty opposite direction (guitar strings sound unplugged). This is why the audio get's screwed!

Best choice is to have all sound sources directed in the same direction. You can turn around and try to put the cam so both - You and PC speakers will be visible. Usually the web cam cable length is a problem but it's easy to buy additional usb to usb cable and put to cam on a chair, bed or something. The condition is to have both - You and speakers playing in the same direction. This will do the job

As for the playing You're really good mate. You don't have any obvious problems with hands positions etc. Any of Your flaws are just a matter of slip or need to get a bit more familiar with the lesson smile.gif
