Anyone have any funny, or Nightmare stories about Auditioning strangers to join your band? In my case, we find those musicians on Craigslist.com In Connecticut lol. If you don't know what craigslist is, its a site for people to sell used furniture/cars, a place for prostitutes to advertise, and a place where musicians look for bands lol.

We were auditioning a bass player one time, and to my surprise, i was going extremely well. The dude was a little twerps looking, and kind of a nerd...but he had soul, and knew his music. If i threw a few chords at him, he was right there in the pocket with me.

Well in a moment, i turned my back to him to adjust my amplifier, and i hear "SPLASH"

I turn around, and this poor kid had throw up all over himself lol. Big puddle on the floor, on his shirt, it was hanging off his base strings for god's sake lol.

Needless to say, he didn't get the gig lol. Luckily a few more weirdos later, i found my current bass player, who i swear is the best bass player my area has ever seen. Because he came from craigslist, we were just waiting for the weirdness to come out. Pull his pecker out at a gig, Fight a Fan, or the bartender......but luckily he turned out to be normal lol

I'd love to hear your guys funny stores. I got this idea when i recently commented on the Poser thread, becuz i came across quite a few on craigslist haha

Dude, you should of seriously considered hiring the vomit guy!

I have my utter-most respect for him, facing his fear in the face, not letting it hold him back and puking all over it. He could of only got better from then on... previously practicing for hours on end in his bedroom most likely, might of had double the talent of what he showed you, after a few nerves had settled playing out in public.

I don't have a band yet (unless you count my neighbour drummer), more the little twerps looking, and kind of a nerd...but has soul attempting those fecken scary auditions... kind of guy. I still choke sometimes with too many eyes on me too (have yet to vomit) smile.gif

I'm with you. I feel I am that vomit guy! Poor schmuck, he'd have been my bassist just because of the vomit - I mean, Gene Simmons has blood, what's wrong with a little vomit?

Bless his heart <---- southern for "that damn idiot" I guarantee that was the epoch of his nerves working themselves out - he would have become the wild man, the dude whips his pecker out, pulls it down and walks around with a camel toe, because he made the cut!!!

Let that dude know he's awesome, build up his self esteem and tell him he's going to go far.

I love the vomit guy!

Yea but jokes on you, he wasn't nervous or anything lol. His excuse was he was using bleach at work, and the fumes must made him sick..........work was 5 hours earlier. Didn't make sense to me lol, just weird haha

Obviously it was nerve induced and he just came up with an excuse - who wouldn't? Nobody would say at an audition, "sorry guys, I'm so nervous I just pucked myself and all over your floor". I'm sure the dude was mortified.

Luckly I have no similar situation to complain smile.gif)) I only remember when I was about 13 and our basis quit (He was 17) because he said he will not play in a band that look like LO 27 (example below). That was a bit true because in this band we had me (13), my brother (11) my guitar friend (13) and the bass man (17)...now...the example:

LO27 was a popular young, pop-rock band...You know how it works....when someone gets popular many people laught of him/them. No matter if the product is descent...the comparisons to backstreet boys where unavoidable biggrin.gif
