Thanks, Gabriel! I still feel like the mixing and producing will let me down though, but I'll keep working on it!

New mix in thread, but also link here: https://benjamin-storm.bandcamp.com/releases

I couldn't resist doing just a bit better mix, and I think this is much better than the first one smile.gif

hahaha that's interesting! It sounds catchy but it's also unpredictable. I like the melody but what I liked even more is the bass line, very creative! Keep going!

Thanks, Gabriel smile.gif I hope I can make this my second song for an album. That is a dream of mine to create something that could be considered an album with songs that has a similar feel and sound to it, if that makes sense. Of course still being unpredictable, but so far all my songs I've written has had a slightly different feel to them, I think.

That's a very cool goal mate! Keep working on the songs!

Yes, it can be tricky to compose in Major for metal lovers. DT has good tones in major, Rush too...

Work in progress, or more or less done now, let me know what you think. Worth recording?

Hi Cael! This is very musical! I like it. Chorus has some DT vibes, and the verse is very melancholic.

It really worth recording.

Thanks, Gabriel. I'll start recording maybe tonight or tomorrow. Gonna be hard with the vocals. I'm not sure if I can do them myself smile.gif

Do you think the lyrics are okay? To me they are maybe a bit cheesy, but maybe it fits with the music.

I am walking on tightropes high in the sky
Afraid to fall, yet I delicately tread along
And should I ever lose hope, I will carry on
Cause there's a fine line between triumph and failure

If I keep my head up
Walk with pride in my stride
If I don't ever give up
I'll find the place for you and I

And if they've broken down my stronghold
Together we'll rebuild anew
I'll wipe the tears from my eyes
And turn to face another day

We're all walking on tightropes high in the sky
Afraid to fall, yet we delicately tread along
And should you ever lose hope, just you carry on
Cause there's a fine line between triumph and failure

If you keep your head up
Walk with pride in your stride
Don't ever give up
You'll find the place for you and I

And if they've broken down your stronghold
Together we'll rebuild anew
So wipe the tears from your eyes
And turn to face another day

If you count all the days and memories
That add up to make you who you are
Don't dismiss the time you've spent in sorrow
The time in grief or in regret
Cause if you learn from all of your mistakes
they will add to make you whole
A whole greater than the sum of all its parts
All you've lived through makes you who you are

So if they've broken down our stronghold
Together we'll rebuild anew
We'll wipe the tears from our eyes
And turn to face another day

If we keep our heads up
Walk with pride in our strides
If we don't ever give up
There's a place for you and I

Been trying out singing on the track. Big problem is I can only reach a G#4 on a good day, but this song goes all the way up to C. And my falsetto is not that strong.

Hi Cael, I like the lyrics. The idea is clear and simple but I think that this kind of lyrics are the ones that most people connects so I think that it's not bad to have lyrics with a clear message.

About singing the tune, it would be cool to have a version of you singing it, for the falsetto parts you could add also a lower octave backing vocal, what do you think?
