I kinda struggle with it because I've not practiced. For some reason I expect singing to just be something I can naturally do, but deep down I know it takes practice.

Hey Gabriel! Do you know the band IQ? I came across them the other day and my word, they've blown my mind!

This album is just so unbelievably good:

I've not been in the right frame of mind to start recording the Tightropes song, but I've been trying to write lyrics for some more songs meanwhile.

Hi Cael, no, I didn't know them... I'm listening to the first song. Progressive Metal... it reminds me a bit to Conception and first Kamelot albums, I like how it starts.

I've become a great fan of the genre called neo-progressive rock/metal. I guess it started in the 80's.

I totally wrecked my voice at Symphony X concert, but I was able to sing along with many high notes, possibly because I dared to punch through with my voice, cause no one could hear me anyway. I'm pretty sure I reached a high C actually, looking back at the vocal lines for some of the songs. In my apartment I don't dare to do the same though.

The bad news is I have no technique, so I lost my voice for a few days, and it's taken almost 2 weeks to get back to normal.

On another note, I've started writing a new song which is more "me" than that pop-ish Tightropes song.

Hi mate! I would love to hear you playing with that energy on a song of your own! If you can reach those notes I'm sure that you can sing like that just with technique and practice.

I'm listening to your new song. I like it, it's very promising. I'd like to hear it with real guitars and vocals to have a clearer feel of the composition but I think that this could be a cool song.

Thanks, Gabriel.

As you know I've finished the song. I'm thinking about adding some lyrics and some vocals, but that'll come in time. I'm also trying to cook up a new song meanwhile. I wanna keep this spirit for song writing up.

Awesome! Try those Symphony X style vocals! You should find a place where you can sing loud without feeling that someone is listening...

Keep going!

Well, if I was better I'd have no problem singing in my apartment, but still it's hard to not feel like you're bothering neighbours. So it's hard to practice vocals for real here. I don't really know where else to go though.

I have a friend who is one of the best metal singers I've ever met, and he still feels that. So he rents a rehearsal room for practising. Even if you sing well, neighbours will think you're crazy when singing metal and high levels. laugh.gif Most of the times they don't can differ good from bad singing.

My friend and I have been working on a better mix of Lunar Eclipse. Mostly by his advice, as I know nothing on what to do when mixing.

Next up is Deep Blue for mixing smile.gif

Here's another song. Some stuff in here has been re-used, but I hope it creates some sense of the songs belonging to each other.

I'm not completely satisfied with some parts. So still working on polishing some stuff on it.

Interesting! It's cool to see that this new composition sounds "new" but keeps the style of the previous compositions. I think that you'll have an EP ready soon, don't you think so? smile.gif

EDIT:
