Getting the bass to sound right in the mix takes practice and work. Perhaps experiment with a touch of compression on the bass and maybe a parametric EQ so you can find the right slot for sound in the mix.

Todd is right about the mix tryouts - I never feel the bass in your recordings and that's why I asked smile.gif I am no mixing expert myself, but I am sure Darius can offer a lot of insight on the matter smile.gif
