hahah you could think on something like this...

That's actually Steve's kid - the young one, if I am not mistaken, who's making the kiddy sounds on this recording biggrin.gif

I finished up my recording and mixing. This was sure a great collab backing track to work with. I enjoyed it a lot. Really uplifting. I think you can see/hear the energy in my take!

Here is a preview of my vid and download links for the media smile.gif Let me know what you think. I used my 80's Ninja Guitar, the BC Rich Gunslinger in Bright green smile.gif It's been a fun guitar but I think it's time to trade up to something new smile.gif

Movie File Download https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2761041...0sCollabvid.mov

Solo with backing
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2761041...WITHbacking.aif

Solo without backing (click intro then silence, then solo)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2761041...count_intro.aif

HD 720p!

This is the first time I used the new free program DAVINCI RESOLVE LITE 10 for editing. It's got a few quirks to be sure and takes wads of tweaking to get it to play smoothly on the timeline. But once I got it running it was great smile.gif I already am liking it more than FCP X. Granted it's only one take and no transitions to mostly just synching audio/color correcting.

It's official! I just sold this Green Beast of a guitar on Ebay. Got more than I paid which is nice! Loved the color and style smile.gif Not in love with the way the neck played sad.gif I keep trying BC Rich guitars cause they are just so dang much fun!! Tried some LTD guitars as well. After the "Honeymoon phase" wears off, I'm ready to try something else so far. I"m eyeballing a Neck Through Body Ibanez which I've never owned before. Arctic white with black hardware so it looks pretty retro as well smile.gif

I've never knew about Steve's private life... does he have sons and daughters?

This is pure 80's mate!! You rocked this one. And it seems that this is the last time we will see that beauty green lady.
Thanks for the magic both! Todd and the green lady! biggrin.gif

Lots of killer licks there mate! It's true that your take is very energetic and enjoyable. I also liked the different images that your used as background, my favorite is the tunnel.

Thanks a lot for joining this one. smile.gif

biggrin.gif I didn't really buy Todd's guitar... I've had that one for a few years now... and had no idea that Todd was doing his take with the same guitar, but it only makes sense to use that one for an 80's collab.

Thanks guys for the kind words..... Much appreciated.

I was - whoa!! What are the odds of having the SAME guitar played in the SAME collab, by two different people laugh.gif

I am completely stupid!!! mad.gif I really made a fatal mistake... Right after the announcement of this collab I downloaded the backing track, slowed it down as I usually do and jammed a bit to find some ideas. Then unfortunately I had to stop playing guitar for several days because there was so much work to do in my job. When I finally came back to this I thought I had some great and crazy ideas for this collab and I practiced quite a lot. But - for some stupid reason I was convinced that the original background track was at 140 bpm instead of 160 bpm! Man - I am really silly! So unfortunately I cannot be part of this collab because I am simply not able to play my solo at 160 bpm huh.gif
But since I've already made the video - here it is:
