i really like melodic metal, but i am totally new to the genre

does anyone know any good melodic metal bands to look up?

There are so many metal catogories i dont even know where my bands fall into now but,some bands im into are killswitch engage,Pantera,Trivium, and my favorite of all Metallica but thats thrash metal or atleast was

Are you looking for a particular type of melodic metal? I personally can consider all kinds of bands melodic. I'd suggest Symphony X or Dream Theater for more of a progressive/neoclassical metal or Amon Amarth for a melodic death metal, with all kinds in between.

Hm.. Dragonforce is really good! I like melidic deathmetal its really god!
Like Children of bodom( Alexi Laiho wub.gif ) , Norther , Kalmah , Sonic Syndicate , Amon Amarth and Ensiferum.. I love them! tongue.gif
