What do we think about the new Opeth track?
Its not without its charm cool.gif Ive been listening to it quite a bit over the last few days. I thought the solo was really cool, it starts all arabian sounding but then moves into a more standard rock type of thing.

Im looking forward to their new album, should be interesting.

I like it! It has a very powerful groove, I enjoyed the mix, the arrangements and the overall feeling. It sounds fresh and promising!

I loved it.The video is really good and the track itself is great. I get that Arabian groove too, it makes that song really interesting. Its gone straight on my playlist! smile.gif

I think it's very interesting, I like it. I remember Mikael saying that he was influenced by the sound of 'Holy Diver' by DIO. I'm glad of that because I also think that album has a brilliant production. It reminds me very much of the Martin Birch produced albums by Maiden, MSG, Rainbow etc.

The only thing I wasn't too sure of was I thought he overdid it with the vocals a bit.. we all know he can do that boyband 'voice breaking thing' but here he does it a bit too much for my taste. I'm a man, I don't want him to make love to me with his voice. tongue.gif

LOL! Too bad..... cuz he's gonna biggrin.gif

I liked when he mixed the death growls in with the cleans. Although that said some of my favourite tracks are from Damnation smile.gif
The best thing about Opeth is that they make me feel more intelligent when I listen to them -
