hello Fellow rockers smile.gif

im guessing every musician wants to now how to promote their music the best way out to their listeners..
So feel free to share...

im thinking of http://www.taxi.com/
a site where you pay 5dollars fee for your songs, and maybe your songs will show up on tv/films..
i dont know if its legit or a good way to promote, havent checked it out.. maybe some of you have heard about?

and ofc Youtube, Mayspace...

some more suggestions ?

Hi mate! This is a very interesting topic that we need to have in mind and also that we have to "update" constantly because the world and technologies are moving really fast. The main free networks that we can use to promote our music are:

Youtube
Facebook
Bandcamp
Twitter
Spotify

Then you have lots of other music related sites as well as blog sites like wordpress, blogspot and tumblr that can be used wisely to reach audience. I don't have experience with Taxi.

I recommend you to check THIS THREAD which has lots of interesting stuff about promoting our music.

Gabe is spot on!! smile.gif Social media is a great way to get going promoting yourself and your music. TAXI is a pay service and has gotten mixed reviews. Some love it, some say it's a bit of a scam. That link gabe shared is to a thread in my instructor forum all about using Social Media to get some exposure online. Wads of tips in there smile.gif

Happy to help!!! smile.gif I've been kicking around in the social media world for a while now and I'm more stoked to be able to share what I've learned!

16,912 views so far on that thread so folks are checking it out quite a bit which is nice! smile.gif There are tons of great posts by other folks as well in that same thread so keep going through it and you'll keep getting more and more tips!!!

one quick tip. go to www.hootsuite.com and get a free account. It will let you post to all of your social media accounts in one go! Also, you can load up scheduled posts ahead of time. Say on a sunday, to go out as scheduled posts during the week or entire month smile.gif That way you can load up some posts when you have time and your audience can keep getting new posts even if you get busy and don't have time later to post!
