> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate smile.gif

As we have discussed in the PMs, you know what you have to do in order to nail this one properly and please don't forget about tuning the guitar as well - drop C means C G C F A D, not just dropping the lowest string to C smile.gif Let's see what the guys have to say, but I would not grade since you need to redo this one with the proper tuning.

Keep rocking and let me know how it goes!

Hi man, the stabbing rhythm is generally quite good but you have recurring trouble with the transition at 0:22-0:23 and the ones that follow it.

As Cosmin said, if you're not tuned to proper Drop C then the chords won't sound right. you're managing to get a weird bluesy sounding chord there which is not what you want.

For Drop C to work, you first have to tune the rest of the guitar to D Standard, then make sure the lowest string is tuned to C.

Drop tunings work by always dropping the lowest string a whole tone below whatever the rest of the guitar is tuned to. Doing this enables you to play a root+5th power chord by fretting the same fret and hitting the lowest 2 or 3 strings.

Hi mate! Both Ben and Cosmin marked the main issue to fix regarding timing and tuning, please work on these things to improve this lesson and your playing in general.

I would like to add that improving the sound of your guitar and videos could be also a good thing to do. Your guitar is not clear and clean there and this could be improved with some work, some new software and with a $0 inversion. Improving your guitar sound on videos will help us to give you more precise feedback of your playing and will also make you focus even more on details as well as train your ear.

Please check out this video, and let me know if you need some help setting everything.

Keep on the hard work! wink.gif
