> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Trivium Style by Gabriel Leopardi

Hey hey

This is again a little lower than original.
In Drop D#

Also I played that outro guitar part which is not on the original backing track.

Scando ! How you doing man ?

Sounding very solid my Finnish pal. I like the brutal tone and you cutting alternate bursts.

You play the main guitar melody a bit different from Gabriel. You're cutting off some of the notes. You naughty man ! mad.gif

Also, the timing tends to fluctuate a bit during this section as you slightly rush sometimes. But that's all I can really pick out as a criticism.

Now go and enjoy your reindeer steaks or whatever you guys eat ! wink.gif

Hi WeePee! Good job on this one. As en said, it's a very solid take that only has some little timing issue here and there that should be fixed. This extreme metal style requires to be played with "extreme" precision so you should identify the parts that are having problems and work to make them sound tighter.

The timing issues appear in the first melodic riff, as well on the lower riffs, the triplets and breakdowns. Nothing is so serious, but it's there so focus on it!

Hey there Ville smile.gif

Nothing else to be added here aside from what Gabi and Ben have already stated, but you can try the old method that never fails wink.gif Record a take over the original one and you will notice the differences - it's always easier when YOU hear them in comparison to a landmark. I know how it feels when sometimes we say - 'Hey! The timing is a bit off there' or 'It could be tighter there' and you actually get to figure it out when you can listen and compare wink.gif

All the best and keep rocking my scando friend!
