Congrats matey! I know you've been waiting for this for at least a couple of years now!

It's a moment you will most likely not forget EVER and hey - my first guitar was a Jackson Randy Rhoads copy, a V as well biggrin.gif I sold it though, but I don't regret it smile.gif Enjoy the music!

Awesome!! It looks killer Yash! Congratulations on this beautiful new guitar! I'm sure that it will bring lots of inspiration and motivation to create music and to practice hard.

How does it sound? Do you find it comfortable to play? What are your first thoughts about it? smile.gif

Thanks Gabriel biggrin.gif You'll be the first to hear it in action tonight at the vid chat wink.gif It sounds amazing. Too good to be true. I thought I would have to scoop out the mids with the EMG's, but the 81 works AMAZING with boosted mids and I get that nasally ''aaoo'' sound, that Megadeth had in their first 2 albums, especially the song Mechanix. I totally loved it ! The cleans are really nice, though I am still searching for a nice clean tone. Though I don't know if that search will ever end tongue.gif But, it's really nice, clean, doesn't break up and is noiseless when I am not playing and typing (right now !) I totally love the sound. The neck pickup is an EMG 89 which can turn into a single coil when I pull the volume pot up. And, the pots are really responsive, though I won't really see it with the EMG pickups, but the tone pot is really responsive and I have already begun making a lot of use of it in my playing. Totally loved it. Then, there's the Floyd Rose, totally love playing around with it. My only complain is that it hangs down, I would like to have it stay fix at the place I leave it mad.gif Any ideas ? Anyone ? smile.gif Then, we go to the neck, which is really comfortable and smooth, the back of the neck is not glossy and has a woody finish so moving around is quick, easy and comfortable. I see myself putting less effort in doing everything than I used to on my previous guitar smile.gif It's a dream to play. And, it stays pretty well in tune, whenever it goes out a little, I adjust it with the fine tuners. Added bonus, I am using the fine tuners to shift between Standard Tuning and Dropped D. Works like a charm smile.gif I don't need a D-Tuna smile.gif These are my first thoughts about it. I'll find more flaws as I keep playing though tongue.gif Or maybe I won't wink.gif Let's see

Thank you Bleez smile.gif Yes. I do agree about the finish. I could have had one in Black 2 months ago, but, I wanted this finish, so, I waited 2 months, and it was worth the wait smile.gif Love the guitar

Hey matey biggrin.gif Glad to see you are enjoying the new girl wink.gif

Now, about that whammy bar - the only solution I can see, would be to have it fixed in the position you wold like to have it and keep it there - out of what I know, it has this little thing that screws itself around it and keeps it in place - right? I already see it fixed in a position, from what the pictures are showing, but maybe it's not fixed yet - have you tried to fix it with that little device that screws itself around the bar?

Hey Matey biggrin.gif I really am enjoying her a lot wink.gif You have no idea. biggrin.gif

Yes. I do screw it. And tighten it up. And, it does fix. For a while. Once I use it, it starts hanging again. Any other ideas ? And, I don't think it's a problem to drop it down to D with the fine tuners ? smile.gif Or should I just keep it in Standard all the time ? It seems to respond fine by now. Once I tune it up, doesn't go out of tune until I do some crazy bending.

Hey Yash! I wouldn't go so far as de-tune the axe into drop D with the fine tuners. It's still a whole step on the thick E string and I think that as I said, this is on of the major downgrades of the Floyd units. You need to unlock the mechanism and re-tune and re-calibrate the axe for any other tuning than the standard one and then lock it back up and re-adjust the fine tuners.

If you de-tune it, make sure you are goning through all this process and not leaving it all to the fine tuners, because I don't know how healthy it is for the guitar. Maybe some other folks here know more about this, but I think it's a very important aspect, that if taken care of, can prolongue the life of your Floyd unit.

OK. I won't de-tune it. That's the only thing I don't like about the Floyd systems dry.gif I just wanna shift from Standard to Drop D, and I don't wanna use a D-Tuna because if I do, I can't pull up. And, I LOVE PULL-UPS !! biggrin.gif Guys, any help with this ?

I have no idea mate - is it were up to me, I wouldn't've bought a Floyd Rose guitar in the first place biggrin.gif But that's just me - I guess you can't really have'em all at hand - or at least, I don't have a solution. Let's see if other folks here have bumped into this problem and founf a way around it smile.gif

The only other option besides a DTUNA For doing drop D and keeping standard E available is to get a really tall/long fine tuner screw for your E. You can buy an entire set for pretty cheap smile.gif They are just taller than regular screws so that you can tune up/down further.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Extra-Long-Floyd-R...=item4ad84eafb7

of course, you wanna make sure the screws are compatible so you'd wanna contact whoever you buy them from to make sure.
